All Purpose News Thread Part Iii

WWE recently conducted a mandatory Zoom meeting for all contracted talent focused on educating its roster about emerging medical treatments, specifically PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) and stem cell therapy.

According to PWInsiderElite.com, the purpose of the session was to update talent on the current scientific understanding surrounding these therapies. WWE reportedly presented the discussion as an informative session, aiming to help wrestlers make smarter, more informed decisions regarding injury recovery and long-term health management.

Close to the point you can count on a WWE event on any weekend an AEW event is announced lmao
SNME is quarterly show on NBC and WWE/TKO seems to want packaging more shows in the same location these days. I don't know if these locations are bidding for them similar to the PLEs. The SNME and Evolution 2 all take place in Atlanta, plus GAB special NXT episode the following Tuesday. All three shows in the same city/arena(?).

Yes they just keep accidentally counter booking AEW PPV's....all the time lol I am sure we are like a month out from an event being announced in Toronto or Ottawa right around All Out as well lol

The problem isn't the multiple shows it's the timing of the shows. The Atlanta weekend could have been the weekend before or the weekend after yet it just happened to be convenient to have it the same weekend as a AEW PPV. It seems this weekend there was a SNME and NXT PLE on the same weekend as an AEW PPV with the NXT and AEW show going head to head. Crazy coincidence I am sure, lol.

SNME has occurred December 2024, January 2025, May 2025 and July 2025 so four events in eight months.

Edit…NXT PLE announced for Saturday afternoon July 12. It’s almost annoying enough to cut back on wwe content. It’s just business and it’s f***ing annoying. I don’t accept the McDonalds.Burger King analogy because there is also countless other fast food chains and normal restaurants competing for customers. There is WWE, AEW, TNA and it gets smaller from there. They’re all on their own level and it’s hard to scale up to the next level but it’s easier to try to keep the smaller competition down when you have the high ground. Physically not morally because the one with the highest ground is proving to be awful.

WWF/E has been doing this for 40 or so years now, there is no coincidences or accidents, they started undercutting competitors going back to the Jim Crockett days and maybe even before that, it is business, plain and simple, nobody bats an eye when McDonalds opens up across the street from Burger King

I have no problem with it from a competition standpoint...

I DO have a problem with, and hope that talent understands they are, trying to put a potential workplace out of business and are trying to make sure if you aren't "one of the lucky ones to work for the E" you won't have an serious opportunity for work, while letting go of 10 or so workers a quarter/every 6 months?

It's a tough livelihood...I get a lot here really don't like Tony Khan, but he feels like he is doing it more of a right way...really has a love for the business and cares about the talent.

The DoN post-show presser made this point very clear

"Emerging treatments" is hilarious. Peyton Manning had to go to Europe 15 years ago to get stem cells to fix what everybody thought was a career ending neck injury. Came back and won a Superbowl.

Here, the FDA is just dragging their f***ing feet approving it because it'd put quite a few orthopedic surgeons out of business.

There's already a company providing it in the US, the one I posted.

... This is not about whether it's provided. The FDA hasn't approved it, which means it's not covered by health insurance.

I went and got PRP shots for a torn labrum last year. If I had paid for stem it would've been anywhere from $10K - $14K, out of pocket.

Rick Derringer, the voice and guitar behind Real American has passed, I remember listening to it on my copy of the Wrestling Album, and Jesse Ventura heeling it up on Derringer, with the song originally meant to be for the US Express, but I believe Barry Windham left the company and things fell into place for the Hulkster

GAB is reportedly set for Centre Stage.
