Was it on good terms? I wasn't sure

Yeah I can't remember if he asked for his release or they released him or his contract just ran out and he decided not to re-sign, but I don't recall any drama.

End of the day he was just underutilized for years, like many guys who Vince didn't think was good enough.

If he came back he'd never get a main event push, but he could still make a good check and be handled better than he was. He'd essentially be another Gable.

Speaking of, it's sad that Gable was getting over with his Gunther work and heel turn, and then just got fed into putting over the spooky bullshit and is back to just another guy who can put on a great match and eat a pin.

The Observer indicates that Miro, Fenix, Ricky Starks, and Malakai Black will all sign with WWE after their AEW contracts expire. In fact, WWE is already “talking creative ideas” for Black right now.
🤔

I don’t know when all these contracts are up but I gotta think at least one will be in the rumble.

So I did some Googling....

Black - Feb/Mar 2025 per Mike Johnson of PWInsider
Starks - Spring/Summer 2025 per multiple sources, but that's large time period lol
Fenix - No one seems to know, but Black pushed back on added injury time and that's why he's getting out soon.
Miro - 2026 per SRS, but Miro has asked for his release.

I dunno how guys look at this and aren't discouraged from signing longer term deals.

Read that Starks release has been denied. TK is becoming what he supposedly hates and its funny

It's absolutely comical. He was supposed to be the booker for the boys and treat guys better than VKM did.

Has not gotten health care for the wrestlers like he said he was going to.
Tacks injury time onto wrestlers like VKM did.
Ices wrestlers who don't want to work for him and pulls their merch, which hurts them in royalty checks.
Makes wrestlers arrange their own medical care and rehab.
Demands NDAs regularly from his employees to prevent any negative talk about the company from getting out.
Squashed a relationship with a partnering company and tried to prevent them from booking venues because of comments one of their talents made about him.

Not to mention he micromanages every aspect of the creative so that the entire product is filtered through the mind of one maniac and the type of wrestling he prefers... Kinda sounds like somebody else, doesn't it?
