What’s awful about it?
  • Dynamite being the best show
  • Cody being MVP, he was boring as f*** until KO temporarily made him interesting
  • Cody being the biggest draw isn't abysmal but I think Jey was a bigger draw based on the reactions and his merch sales
  • Nia Jax being overrated... she's not even rated by most people, you can't be overrated when you're constantly shit on
  • Jimmy vs Jey being worst... it wasn't good but it sure as f*** wasn't the worst of the year either
let's be honest, any WON rankings are always heavily slanted towards AEW

Young Bucks as best tag team of 2024? I don't know. Maybe tag teams are so weak that it is an accurate assessment.

Cody has been the top guy in the promotion of the year and in all of the main events, including the two highest gates on consecutive nights

WWE won promotion of the year. And it’s voted on by subscribers.

Josh Alexander has a lot of miles on him, he's been wrestling for about 20 years now, turns 38 in a few months and has had multiple neck surgeries. Unless he was interested in more of a mentor role (like Shawn Spears), I really don't think WWE would have any interest in him for NXT.

My favorite version of NXT was when the guy came in as big signing, has the warm up PPV match, has the MOTN non title PPV match, wins title at next PPV, loses it 6 months later, then they move onto the next signing. He could do all that and give them a few months of jobbing with Ethan Page as tag team on main roster before he's 40. Sure he wouldn't be guaranteed to get over like that in NXT, but if their champs lately have been Trick or Page, the bar doesn't seem THAT high.

I feel like they've barely wrestled in 2024 but at the same time I can't think of any other team that I'm like "no it should have been them or them"

Private Party?
Catch 2/2?
DIY?
JD/Finn?

So yea I think it's a combination of weak tag teams + WON favoritism. Kinda like how the Super Bowl MVP is "if no one else stands out just give it to the QB"
