Bouchard is locked in on tanking his extension value, which so long as the team has a decent enough record isn't the worst thing in the world for us, lol. He better cut that shit out by the late season/playoffs though.

Arvidsson should stay with McDavid and Hyman for a bit. Knob is being a stubborn ass not letting anyone else have any McDavid time and it's not good for the team overall.

We've spent a lot of money on these players, let them get an easy goal or two and get going.

Defensively a very smart coach (either that or Coffey is really doing the heavy lifting), but offensively not the brightest bulb in the pack.

Even if you don't like Arvidsson or Skinner the best thing we can do is juice their stats a bit so that we can move them out.
Arvidsson gets hate around here, but i think he was battling an injury to start the year. Combine that with coming to a new team it was a rough few months.

I've watched him play enough to know he's going to win over the haters and still be a contributor on our team. (if he stays healthy)

I think it was a great signing.

It's so wild to me watching "fans" get upset over Skinner having a good game. The need to constantly bend reality to try to paint him in a bad light isn't healthy.

There have been players that I don't like on the Oilers over the years but I've never once been upset when they play well. The team winning is the most important thing to me. Skinner is playing well. People should just enjoy it.
I think in their minds the goaltending is in such desperate need of fixing that they feel a good game from the goalie might delay or prevent action from management to fix it.

So they go out of their way to show that the goalie doesn't get the benefit of the doubt or that he had a mediocre game based on the underlying numbers, as if Stan Bowman reads HF and needs reminding he shouldn't let recency bias let him believe we don't have a goalie problem.

Love that Arvidsson got moved up the lineup with RNH out and then went out and scored. Would not have gotten that result from Skinner.

Knob knows.
Did you watch the post game presser? They asked why Skinner is still on line 4. It was pretty awkward.

The fact that Nuge is out and Skinner still doesn't get to move up in the line up shows he's cooked.

The issue is Skinner isn't a 4th line type of guy. I hope we can ship him out somehow.

Skinner is our ride our die, we know nothing is happening. At least he's playing much better for now.

If the playoffs started now, we would play the Kings.

If the NHL reverted back to 1-8 seed playoffs. We would play...the Kings.

It is our destiny.
How sad is that. The kings fielding pretty much the same team as last year. No Jonathan quick. Rittich/keumper in goal. Their massive upgrade was signing Warren foegele.

Same guys doing the damage for the Kings, Kempe, Kopitar, Fiala and old man Doughty.

Doughy should just request a trade to the oilers and finish his career with a cup here.

I think you miss why Skinner is criticized- it’s because the lack of consistency. Of he got 30 shutouts in a row- he would be consistent- and oilers fans would have no problem with him.

Criticizing Skinner for being inconsistent is fair. He is pretty streaky.

Criticizing Skinner for playing badly in a game where he put up a .950 and only let in a breakaway goal is something different. It’s delusion.

Over the last couple weeks it’s been more of the latter.

What is a fourth line guy? How are they different than first or second line guys? The oilers are supposed to be a deep team. To answer your question he has to play the right way.

What?

4th line guys should be able to PK, play defence, play hard in your face hockey. Be able to ride the bench and play very few minutes. 2nd line guys need to score, need to produce, need to handle more minutes.

Jeff Skinner is old, he's cooked. He can't play the right way because he simply doesn't have it.

He was brought in to be a "2nd line guy" to give Drai some "2nd line wingers" and it just isn't going to work out.

Horrific signing.

3 Henrique backhand snipe attempts robbed now in a row lol. Great poise and pass by Brown too, imagine if he rediscovers his Top 6 game.

As frustrating as Henrique game has been this year, he’s still a plus player somehow with no top 6 time. Not sure how that’s possible but it is. He needs to start producing more. But at least hes not a liability on the ice.

I don’t hate him by any stretch but he needs to actually stay healthy and play.

If he gets another week to week type of injury prior to the trade deadline they really have to consider using the stone LTIR strategy so RV isn’t hurting us.

That isn’t how this team is coached. Maybe you haven’t noticed but Jeff skinner is on the fourth line. He has the tools.

It's possible because he's always above the puck and gives the other team nothing while creating great chances himself.

He's far from a liability, he perfectly saws off over against top opposition and outscores them consistently.

He even did that on the ducks, for ducks sake.

It's not flashy, but it's solid. He's a grittier and more defensively oriented RNH.

Tonight’s game was some of the better rebound control I’ve seen from him this year.

Oilers didn’t give up many good chances but he made every save he needed to.

When he’s off a couple of those either go in or he drops a rebound out right in the slot

He's being punished/demoted for garbage play. (rightly so)

He was brought in to give Drai better wingers, but it didn't work.

Jeff Skinner is not a 4th line guy. There is no spot for him on this team.

They need to earn it and it needs to be organic. Like last night.

Thanks, No I missed it. Will have to go back and watch.

Agreed he can’t stay as a 4th liner. I hope it doesn’t cost too much to move him. Everyone will know we want to get rid of him.

They weren't counting the 15 pushes at net that weren't even shots. lol. jk aside though there were 5 pucks that just squibbed to the net, a few wouldn't have crossed the line, 5 more were pt shots and I've learned that Skinner is making a "great save" every shot from the point, unscreened where it just sifts directly into the logo. This was as easy a 1 goal game as you can get in this league.

The most dangerous sens chances other than the one goal were either missed shots or blocked shots. Sens mounted very little in 57mins of this game.

They looked gassed, 3rd in 4 and playing on a very short turnaround. Oilers looked gassed as well after 3 in 4 and 4 in 6 but controlled the game. Skinner had very little to do back there yesterday and did his level best to gift Ottawa a freebie when he passed a whiffleball up to a Sen who wasn’t on the ball enough to fire it into the open cage.

How sad is that. The kings fielding pretty much the same team as last year. No Jonathan quick. Rittich/keumper in goal. Their massive upgrade was signing Warren foegele.

Doughty has been injured most of the year. I think he’s out for at least another 4-6 weeks IIRC. But yeah I’d love him here only we can’t afford the cap hit and if Nurse maintains his level of play we honestly don’t need him.

Yeah skinner was good. This place is crazy. I don’t think it’s delusion they are obsessed and biased against certain players it’s bizarre

Well that was a nice last game before the holiday season. We seem to be winning a lot of tight games that require a lot of defense. We smothered Ottawa's red hot offense and made it look easy.
Other teams clear the puck frequently An d score empty net goals… we don’t moron. I know it was 6 on 5 . The point is over head
Look, no offense dude but you really need to stop worry about people's opinions as much as you do. Everyone says dumb stuff on this board from time to time, including myself. A lot of your posts contain complaints about other posters and name calling. It makes you look kinda miserable. Just click the ignore button and never look back. Not hating, just saying. Hope you and everyone else on HF Oil have a Merry Christmas.

Lol yes I can. Winning 8 of the last 9 games. Oilers definitely own the senators

Makes me feel happy and dirty all day the same time

Like making sweet tender love to a nice woman

But the kicker is it's in a 24 hour massage parlour with a 95 year old Asian woman.

Not sure how to feel you know ?

I just want to say, Brady Tkatchuk might be the dumbest human I've ever seen on TV. And I mean that literally. Watching the Amazon special, he came across as sloth from the goonies dumber brother. Can't stand that guy.
