Let's all take a moment and reflect on what that man has meant to this organization and what he has accomplished and the methodical way that he did it.

I've been thinking about this as I have been one of his biggest supporters since he was announced and now looking back at the 5 year plan and the whole of the moves that this man has made that have brought us two (TWO TWO TWO TWO TWO) Stanley Cups I'm just overwhelmed and astonished and so so very thankful.

Share your specific Deano memories in here.

I'll start with a well used statement from many fans of all shapes and sizes : " Lombardi is great at building a team but as you can see with his time heading the sharks he is just not the guy that will win anything especially not a cup."

The tree section of M.B. is going to be rocking something wicked tonight tomorrow and through the weekend.

DL is a great guy and so are his family so happy for them on that level but we have the top GM in the game at the helm of this team. So very very happy to be watching him and his crew work.

the best news... he actually knows what the Kings need, and doesn't have to read these boards to make decisions ;) ... if he did, we'd still be in the Steve Kelly - Eric Rasmussen - Mikko Eloranta era :)

There's so many things to talk and marvel about Deano, but I'll just share one thought for now. The fact that he really tries to understand who he trades for and drafts as people, instead of being overly lured by stats and hype, has made all the difference for this team. You genuinely get the sense that the whole locker room consists of guys that are a perfect mix of serious professionals, and relaxed, grounded dudes. There's no "I" on this group, and that locker room has really grown from a team into a family.

Carter in '12, Gaborek in '14, the Richards trade, the Williams one, Stoll and Greener, drafting the likes of Doughty, drafting the likes of Quick, Voynov, Martinez, Nolan, Toffoli, Pearson and developing them, signing grizzled veterans like Scuderi, Mitchell, and signing long-term Kopitar, again Doughty, Quick, now Brownie,

I remember a few years ago when the Blackhawks won the cup and they had to get rid of important pieces of their team because of the new Cap rules, the Kings don't have to worry about this now, as ...

Dean has done a Stanley Cup job with these Kings, Congrats Deano!

I think he has put together a dynasty my friend! :yo:

Lombardi > King Henrik > John Gibson > God > Jesus > Baby Jesus > Raptor Jesus > Jesús
>Jesus>Raptor Jesus> Baby Jesus> New Born Baby Jesus layin in the manger full of wonder> diving henry> John "I am the light of the world Gibson" > Lombardi?

Lombardi = Lombardi = Einstein?

Insert you gabba gabba "Do the puppet master" gif here.

Nobody does their due dilligence more than DL. That kind of analysis and attention to detail is what makes him so great. Bravo Dean.

The 5 Year Plan. Never forget.

I remember all of us arguing about what year the 5 year plan actually started in, and when it exactly it ended.

I also remember an early Hammond article when LA Kings Insider was just a blog page on the Daily News in which DL broke out his infamous charts for the first time. He had Frolov-Kopitar-Purcell penciled in as our line of the future. I think this was around 2007ish.

I called for his head many times and not afraid to admit. The man never swayed from his vision of building a CULTURE and look what it's brought us.

"The Shill!"

Love Deano. Has done more for this franchise than The Great One himself. Pretty remarkable.

Love him, Hope he continues to lead us for years.

His first play last night was to feed Gabby a ton of booze and sign him on the cheap while he was drunk.

2 Stanley Cups and a conference final in three years

I said it before and I'll say it until the day I die - the best thing to EVER!!! happen to the Los Angeles Kings was the hiring of Dean Lombardi as GM. When words such as "infrastructure", "charts", "spreadsheets", "culture", "identity", etc. became part of the discussions I knew we were on the right track. DL overhauled the franchise from the ground up and now has a team set to contend for many years despite the salary cap.

I love how the players and fans love DL and Darryl Sutter so much. To see and hear the cheering for them last night during the celebrations says a ton about what we all have with this team. And I think unsung heroes like Alec Martinez, Kyle Clifford, Dwight King, Mike Richards, Matt Greene, Jarret Stoll, Trevor Lewis, Willie Mitchell, Robyn Regher and Jeff Schultz and the play of youngsters Jake Muzzin, Tyler Toffoli and Tanner Pearson says a ton about the team too.
