All Encompassing Head Coach Search Thread

From what i've read, i think i'd be more than okay if Ferschweiler was the guy. yes, there's plenty of Hakstol-ish downside but he'd be a more exciting option than Tocchet or any other retread.

Seriously?? The student has become the master.

Get ready for a whole lot of Rangers dysfunction.

The Rangers are currently a debacle, and if they're thinking adding Tortorella to the mix is gonna help they're way dumber than the Flyers.

Where would they be without the prestige of NYC and MSG and their O6 status and deep pockets to use as hard selling points?

I'm ok with not getting Sullivan. The conditions that aided his success in Pitt do not exist here. Unsure we should assume he can replicate a fraction of it somewhere else a decade later.

Yeah I wasn't very interested by Sullivan either.

I would be fine with Shaw as a more development oriented coach.

I just don't see Shaw as a great developmental coach. I'm of the opinion of, does it really matter who the next coach is? I can see the developmental angle but in reality. If this team ever gets anywhere in the future. This coach they hire is going to be long gone. He will be a sacrificial lamb.

Friedman says Jay McKee is on the radar. He has been coaching in the OHL in Kitchener and Branford winning a championship in 2022. Used to be teammates with Danny in Buffalo.

Tocchet considering TV if the landscape isn’t as he wants it.
Never met him, but our parents apparently our parents worked together. For that reason alone, I say give him a shot.

Maybe that's the point - stick with a guy like Shaw who creates minimal disruption but at least changes the tone from Torts. I agree that whoever the next coach is will not be the one in place when the team turns the corner.
