It's not really an equal partnership. AEW gets to call the shots and NJPW has to take it because they have zero inroads in America otherwise.
I mean the booking has been pretty fair to both companies so far. Where has New Japan been taken advantage of? New Japan gets a ridiculous amount of value out of running that match back in Japan.

Have Okada win the 2nd one in Japan and then have the rubber match main event their 2024 Wembley-esque event

Could even do the 2nd one in Japan in 2024 and then the rubber match in 2025…if Danielson plans on being around that long

I see people saying Okada/Danielson was disappointing online and while I do think they held back for future matches, I think it was a wonderful contrast to the crack-cocaine infused match that was Omega/Ospreay. Even the 10 man tag and fatal 4 way were fast-paced too. The ending was shocking too. I thought it was wonderful.

Yep got to be a trilogy….

Could/would/should they do omega vs ospreay 3 at all In, in England?

Would be pretty sick…

Fantastic show. Omega v ospreay was absolutely bananas and stole the show.... but I'm excited for Danielson going forward

Really blown away tonight. The few negative impressions I had tonight were proven false. Mjf and tanahashi had a really serviceable match. Jb and sanada had a fun one. Omega v Ospreay was insane. Danielson v Okada was legitimately MOTY contender. Really well done by both AEW and NJPW

The only bad part of the night was no extra train to get home so I was worried if the match was going to finish before we had to leave. Thankfully Okada tapped in time. Quickest five hours of wrestling in my life. So many great moments and matches however they are all a distant second to the insanity that was Ospreay/Omega.

Jericho interrupted the Sting/Darby presser and I believe it led to a Texas Tornado tag match for Dynamite involving those three and Sammy.

Edit...fack, I'm tired but still wired. Tonight may have been too much to process, lol. Plus now I'm having visions of Sting jumping off the railing in front of us during Dynamite. Four hours until work. Going to be a fun day, lol

The main event was disappointing considering who was in the match.

Bryan admitted he was hurt going in so that might he why.

I don't like tapping Okada out at all. Even if Bryan wasn't hurt they wouldn't have done anything with that heat on the weekly shows because Bryan is too selfless and doesn't want to be a main attraction or a title holder.

Omega/Osprey was way way better, though I did not like that Tiger Driver spot. Those two are so talented, they don't need to be necking each other. Especially Kenny who has had vertigo problems in the past.

They have to constantly job their guys out for these shows.

They do it because Covid absolutely devastated Japanese wrestling from a business perspective and it still hasn't fully recovered

The one thing they got out of last night is they now have a US champ that will actually defend the belt.

Who has been jobbed out though? Sanada essentially squashed JB in one of the shortest IWGP heavyweight matches ever. Ishii is actually presented better in AEW then he is in New Japan at this point. Both Shibata and ZSJ were protected in the 4 way match. I mean end of the day in a relationship like this obviously someone from one of the companies has to take the pin....but the facts just flat out do not back up what you are saying. AEW is the big bro in this partnership but neither side has been taken advantage of here.

Bryan said in the press conference he broke his right forearm 10 minutes into the match.

Not only that but Tanahashi finish wasnt clean
I keep hearing Okada will be a FA soon as well

Ospreay is a free agent soon
He pretty much said he doesn't want to leave Japan...I'm sure if TK throws enough money at him..

I loved the show, only gripe I have is Callis coming back out and ref doing nothing about it...

Everyone was presented well and matches all were really good

That and the Tiger driver were my only gripes with that match. It isn't my cup of tea style wise but it was still really good.
