Right I guess my point is that if they aren't bigging themselves up forever nobody gives a f*** about seeing FTR and the Bucks in a match. Not to the extent that they do right now. The complete clash in styles of the two teams also adds a pretty massive part of the feud between the two teams as well.

Punk is toxic as hell. Regal was always super popular within the locker room wherever he went. The guy had his struggles with substance abuse but trained a lot of great wrestlers and I can’t remember reading a bad thing about him as a person.

AEW will be better off without him and any fan with half a brain should realize this.

I get that, I just massively prefer FTR and how they wrestle.

That international title has mostly been an afterthought for the year until the last 2 weeks like it was a low card belt but now it’s being treated like the big gold belt in WWE. OC should have dropped it months ago.

I think its been higher then the TNT title. I don't love OC, but he as absolutely elevated it.

It's also just another instance where all three members of the SHIELD are champs at the same time.

Even if the international title is a mid card title, I still think it's impressive how decorated all three SHIELD members continue to be.

I like OC but disagree strongly that he elevated the title. A lot of his defenses, the vast majority, were against nobodies. AR Fox? Bandito? Luchasaurus and Rey Fenix? Jake Hager and QT Marshall? Daniel Garcia and Dralistico? They were all decent to good matches but I can think of 3 or 4 of his defenses that were worth a damn.
 


Not really many worthwhile names. My favorites were the Forbidden Door, Swerve and Lance Archer matches. Even if the end was wrong in the archer match.

They were telling the story of him being a workhorse champion. Getting worn down slowly over time still winning. The title was absolutely elevated by OC if not by his reign then at the very least by tonight.

I get that he was a workhorse champ and the tenure was impressive, but the title was literally only elevated from rampage undercard level to upper mid card at forbidden door and beyond. Now that it’s on Mox it will be worth pursuing instead of it being a belt with lots of defenses but no buildup to the matches.
 
One thing I will say and has probably been said: AEW needs way, way less titles. I get the ROH connection, that is fine but if it was up to me I would only have:

AEW Champion
ROH Champion
AEW Tag Team Champions
AEW International OR AEW TBS Champion (not both)
AEW Women's Champion
AEW Women's Tag Team Champions

I feel like they have several other titles and it makes the titles feel devalued a bit in my eyes.

EDIT: Yeah, just looking now their roster also includes:

AEW Trios Champions
ROH Six Man Tag Champions
ROH Television Champion
FTW Champion (most meaningless lol)
Women's TBS Champion
ROH Women's Champion

Then you've got the partnered promotions featured titles currently like the Strong Openweight Championship and the AAA Latin American Championship.

It is way, way too bloated. Feels like half the roster has a title of some sort.
