I honestly think DB should be going over on Sunday. Not every title reign needs to be 6 months long, the AEW belt needs to have Danielson in its lineage in my opinion and you still in the end have MJF win it back from MJF somewhere down the line. MJF coming up juuust short in a 60 minute ironman match with Danielson isn't going to hurt him in the least either.

This is MJF's first real high profile feud as champion, he should not be losing.

The feud should not end there though. MJF should cheat to win and we should have a rematch that Danielson can win. THEN you have a rubber match that MJF wins.

That way, you get Danielson in the lineage AND you elevate your heel champion.

That is fair. I still don't think MJF is hurt by losing to Danielson in an ironman match but I do get what you are saying too. As long as the feud carries on after this and the title changes hands at some point I am not going to be upset in the end.

And let's be honest, they have no one else positioned as a credible threat to MJF right now. Extending the Danielson program is the best thing to do.

That also gives them time to build up the next babyface contender. I'd love it if they went back to Stark at some point.

MJF can always pick someone new and force them either win a tournament, or have to defeat 8 random guys over the course of two months, each one more random than the last, we haven't seen something like that in a while

As for the Ironman match, I might go for a draw to show that MJF has the stamina and guts to hang with Danielson for the long haul, then a rematch where MJF wins dirty/ gets DQ'd, and stretch the feud out a bit

Incorrect, there are a bunch of guys who would be perfectly fine in those spots, Avalon and Uno are not among them
Avalon is an enhancement guy who was out there to have Jericho get a quick victory as a set up to further the match with Starks. Uno was in that match to further the storyline between Mox and Hangman and is the type of booking every wrestling promotion has used since the dawn of time.

I still think someone more realistic than Avalon answering the open challenge would have made more sense, an AR Fox, or Shawn Dean type, Avalon is the bottom of the bottom and should stick to Dark

And as for furthering the Hangman/Mox feud, what more needs to be furthered? They've beaten each other into ground meat multiple times already, if Hangman really needed more inspiration at this point I don't know

Did the Road Warriors need to break Dustin's legs or burn down Dusty's house after they tried to poke his eye out with the spike?

Because if you want to be a top level promotion you shouldn't have guys on national tv that belong in high school gyms
I mean WWE did a whole thing with James Ellsworth. A jobber has been a part of literally every single promotion since wrestling in the current sense has been a thing. Unless you also think the same of WWE? Like you mentioned AR Fox when he is being positioned firmly in the mid card. It absolutely would have been worse to have AR Fox job out to Jericho last night. Avalon is literally on the roster to fill time on Dark and do the job to top guys from time to time. Which is exactly what he did lol

But it didn't start out as a guy jobbing to Jericho, it was an open challenge for Starks title, did Ellsworth or someone like him ever answer one of Cena's open challenges, maybe he did and I just missed it or blocked it out, but I feel like most open challenges were guys who were fairly legitimate ? If Jericho doesn't intercept Avalon, then Starks wrestles Avalon, and either has a competitive match with him that makes Starks look like a dope, or he squashes Avalon and gains nothing

And a guy like Fox or Dean or one of those guys would lose nothing losing to Jericho who despite being up in age has been in or near the top of the card for almost all of his AEW tenure, and you could have had a more competitive match even if it was short with Jericho winning with a quick Judas out of nowhere

Right...but Avalon was never going to actually have the match with Starks lol the entire point was for him to job last night to Jericho while building to Jericho and Starks. And yes Fox could have a match with Jericho and lose but he shouldn't be jobbing to him. Like it is a pretty straight forward booking decision. James Ellsworth actually had a WWE title match against AJ Styles by the way.
