just got back from taking kid back to school and in 3 hours we are now getting Phaneuf
awesome
There is no chance whatsoever that the Bruins even ask about Kessel.
What can I say? A rumor hits and we are bored, lol. Really thought something with Vancouver was going to take place after the game.
I'll take Kassian.... wonder why Chiarelli and Benning cant make a deal
Probably because Kassian isn't worth much and if Benning doesn't get much, it will look like he's doing his old pal a favor.
I seem to recall that the only reason he is working there is the favor Boston did by letting him go there to take the job.
True, but that makes it even worse.

Talking to Canucks fans and media around here the real fear is that trading Kassian to Boston is Cam Neely 2.0.
LOL, do you really see that happening any time in the near future? You think a team in full rebuild mode get it done in two years? Come on ,reality check.

Oh there is a chance if Toronto wants to eat a chunk of that contract. Kessel is a head case but he could thrive on the team that traded him wanting him back.
It has been 6 years.

COME ON GIVE ME SOMETHING (Kassian?)
Blitzkrug, I'm staying up. Stick it out.

The big difference is Kassian is not a native of British Colombia like Cam was.
The last time I stayed up late for a trade announcement Iginla was a Bruin.
Then my phone started lighting up with texts and I was back out of bed after calling it a night thinking Iginla was going to get his first Cup with the Bruins...
Stranger things have happened.
Florida is pushing for a playoff spot? Bruins a fringe playoff team? Islanders near the top of the conference? No one would have guessed that last year.
Toronto moves Phaneuf + Kessel; they could possibly get some guys that could contribute very soon.
Reality is, anything can happen. You can "LOL" all you want.
And for the record, yea, I think a team in full rebuild mode can get into the playoffs within 2 years. How long did it take the Bruins to get back on their feet? 2005-2007? Trading Thornton, hiring Dave Lewis. They made it in 2007-2008. Will Toronto do it? Maybe, maybe not. But it's hardly unfathomable.
