we all want to see something, anything, we've been on these boards all day waiting. But when Phil at 8M and Dion at 7M start to look good we need to shut it down.

There is no chance whatsoever that the Bruins even ask about Kessel.

Oh there is a chance if Toronto wants to eat a chunk of that contract. Kessel is a head case but he could thrive on the team that traded him wanting him back.

It has been 6 years.

Hello Kevin
Peter Chiarelli Here
I am good how are you?
Good to hear
I was just wondering how you'd like to enter the playoffs with
Buff Myers and Chara in your back end?
Ohh you like that, well let me make that happen for you...
What would it take?
Well Your 2 1st rounders and Josh Morrissey...
Haha no I'm not kidding at all..
Look Kevin I'd rather make this deal with you
Than Calgary or Minnesota or even los Angeles.
It's a fair deal, but think about going into this years playoffs with that trio
And with Trouba Enstrom and Stuart.
We're talking about Stanley Cup Kevin. STANLEY CUP!!!
GREATTTTTT I WILL CALL IT IN.

LOL, do you really see that happening any time in the near future? You think a team in full rebuild mode get it done in two years? Come on ,reality check.

Stranger things have happened.

Florida is pushing for a playoff spot? Bruins a fringe playoff team? Islanders near the top of the conference? No one would have guessed that last year.

Toronto moves Phaneuf + Kessel; they could possibly get some guys that could contribute very soon.

Reality is, anything can happen. You can "LOL" all you want.

And for the record, yea, I think a team in full rebuild mode can get into the playoffs within 2 years. How long did it take the Bruins to get back on their feet? 2005-2007? Trading Thornton, hiring Dave Lewis. They made it in 2007-2008. Will Toronto do it? Maybe, maybe not. But it's hardly unfathomable.

That dude has sportsnet cred too. Wonder who it could be?

Still waiting on Chia to trade the whole team for a Super Nintendo.

I honestly don't think there are more than a handful of people in the league that have less of a chance of coming to Boston. You've been bringing up Kessel's name a lot and I just don't get what your thought process is on this. It will never happen. It doesn't matter how many years go by.

The last time I stayed up late for a trade announcement Iginla was a Bruin.

Then my phone started lighting up with texts and I was back out of bed after calling it a night thinking Iginla was going to get his first Cup with the Bruins...

Awkward... But if a trade is going down this late, wouldn't you think it would involve players from the Vancouver, St Louis game?

Toronto and every other team knows Dion and Phil are not what you build around, it has been exposed. No team is going to take those contracts without retaining salary if you retain salary on those players and you are already going to be at a disadvantage.

You bring up Florida, Florida has been rebuilding since 2010 and they may get a sniff at the PO's this year (probably not). Ask the good folks out in Edmonton how thier rebuild is going and for how long. Your right, anything is possible but you wouldn't bet a dime on it ,I'm sure.
