Rather than face the winner of Madrimov v Crawford as he was supposed to, Sebastian Fundora has dropped the WBO super welterweight title and will instead defend his remaining WBC title against Errol Spence Jr. in October.
The Madrimov v Crawford fight, which was originally going to be for Madrimov's WBA and the vacant WBO interim titles, will now be a full unified WBA/WBO world title fight.
On the undercard Tim Tszyu will face Vergil Ortiz Jr. for the WBA interim title and TBRB/Ring/lineal champion Jermell Charlo remains WBA Champion-In-Recess, which entitles him to a WBA title shot if he can make the 154 weight again. So it seems like the Crawford v Madrimov winner could be tied up fighting both Tszyu/Ortiz and Charlo for the foreseeable future.
Meanwhile, Serhii Bohachuk continues to get screwed. He was originally going to face Fundora for the WBC title, until Thurman got hurt and they made Fundora vs Tszyu for the WBC/WBO titles. Then Bohachuk ended up fighting Mendoza, who knocked Fundora out in Fundora's previous fight, for an interim belt. Instead of fighting Fundora for a full world title he had to fight the guy who KO'd Fundora for an interim title, and now Spence has jumped his spot in line for a shot at that same title again.

Tim Tszyu has been ruled out of his scheduled WBA interim super welterweight title fight against Vergil Ortiz Jr. The fight was due to take place on the Crawford v Madrimov undercard, but doctors have ruled that the cut Tszyu received in the Fundora fight won't be fully healed in time.

Wilder should have retired after the third Fury fight. His chin is gone and he's too gunshy to land anything anymore. Embarrassing fight between him and Zhang. I would call Zhang washed too but he was never good to begin with.
It will be an absolute joke if they strip Usyk's IBF heavyweight belt to give it to the winner of Dubois vs Joshua. He stopped Dubois on a jab and he beat Joshua twice in a row.

Agree. First of all, Wilder is too scared of taking a punch, which makes him box defensively, moving backward, something he completely lacks skill in. Even the smaller Parker was able to corner him, let alone a big guy like Zhang. Just launch that right hand and hit that huge static chinese head lol. But at this point, Wilder just dont has it anymore. Im curious about excuses this time cause Alabama is a sore loser

It was not an amazing performance from Dubois, he walked right into combinations all night. Hrgovic is just a bad fighter with no motor, no footwork, and no defense. Joshua will make quick work of Dubois if they make that fight. Heavyweight is truly a wasteland right now.

In general, merging all the organizations is overdue. Potentially having a half dozen or more champs in a given weight class including folks with the interim tag is confusing at best and stupid at worst.

The WBA has decided to take a break from its normal mission of ruining boxing for everyone to actually do something right for a change. They have ordered Naoya Inoue to defend against former unified WBA/IBF super bantamweight champion and current TBRB #1 contender Murodjon Akhmadaliev.
The promoters had been pushing for Inoue to fight TJ Doheny instead. Doheny is a former IBF titlist and he's ranked by The Ring and ESPN (unranked by TBRB), but Akhmadaliev is the highest rated guy at TBRB and the highest rated guy at both ESPN and The Ring that Inoue hasn't already knocked out.
This is the best fight that can be made at 122 right now.

Tank fight went about as expected. He says he'll fight Lomachenko but I won't believe it until it happens; Davis hates taking on big challenges.
Benavidez looked average. His power didn't carry up against a bigger man. Gvozdyk looked pretty washed himself; I feel like the guy we saw beat Adonis Stevenson would've brutally destroyed Benavidez. I legitimately don't think Benavidez can beat Bivol, Beterbiev, or Canelo. He's very basic.
Like Zayas last weekend, Russell was badly exposed in his first fight against a southpaw. But it was worse for Russell because he took the loss. How in the world do these guys wait until they get to the world level before they fight a single southpaw opponent? What are their trainers and managers thinking?
Adames and Gausha was a dud of a fit. Both guys terrified of each other.
