Damn good fight. Think Loma may have taken it with his late round onslaught, but not by very much if at all.

Teofimo Lopez wins by unanimous victory.

Huge upset. Wow, wasn’t expecting that before the fight.

Loma sat back for 7 rounds to a disastrous result. Needed to push the pace way more.

Yup, I have no problem with that decision at all (in general, not the 119 to 109 bit). Very close and a very good fight.

119 to 109? Come on!

Yeah that was outrageous. No way that’s a 119-109 fight.

I wonder if Loma has a rematch clause? He definitely outclassed Loma heavily early and sealed it in the 12th.

Lopez clinched it in the 12th for me. Can't fathom why Lomachenko's camp thought sitting back the first 7 rounds would be a good strategy. 3-4 rounds sure, but you can't give away that many points.

For a guy whose natural weight is probably closer to 120 you can only stand and trade with a power puncher for so long.

Lopez did a great job of not letting Lomachenko beat him with his footwork.

I would be interested in a rematch.

119-109 was dumb but that’s judging for you

Imo the right guy won and that’s all we hope for in this sport. Not always a given

I had Teofimo +325 and sprinkled some on Teofimo by KO. Did not think he would win a decision. Good for him. Kids got a bright, bright future

I had 115-113 Lopez.

Insane cards from the judges. Regardless you can't be down 4-1 and still be preaching "patience" in the corner. Loma didn't turn it on until rd 8, way too late.

Yup. He needed to start turning it on in like round 4, not round 8.

Props to Lopez though, he’s a warrior and clearly won that fight but I think Loma threw that fight away in some respects by being so passive as you mentioned.

He needed to be so much more aggressive like he was in rounds 8-11 and parts of rounds 2 and 12.

I have it as a draw, but can understand Lopez with a slight victory.
Fact that it was scored not even close, and I lost money , now I'm pissed! :madfire:

It was a weird fight, I don't really feel that Lopez outboxed or really hurt Loma much, but at the same time he got points because he was more active for most of the fight and you can't really say he lost. Credit to Teo for keeping up a good pace and not letting Loma really impose himself as much as he would to other fighters. Felt like Loma lost/drew the match rather because of his own inactivity, not necessarily because Lopez did anything particularly well against him (besides managing distance for the most part and keeping a strong pace).

Definitely would love to see a rematch, I think Loma makes the right adjustments. He still had the best moments of the fight of IMO.

I had it 116-112 Lopez. I’m a huge Lomachenko fan. I think the long layoff hurt him. He didn’t get going until round 8. For the first 7 rounds he wasn’t active at all and even though there wasn’t a lot of action I still have Lopez a lot of the earlier rebounds. Kudos to Lopez too. When Loma stared throwing punches and landing combos late in the fight Lopez countered many times and didn’t seem too fazed.

to the one judge who had it 119-109 yikes lol

It's going to be fun to watch the new wave of guys. Teo, Shakur Stevenson, Devin Haney, Ryan Garcia etc. Hopefully they actually fight each other.

When someone says something like "Pound for pound, the greatest fighter", what does that mean? The greatest fighter of a certain size?

Deontay Wilder has been saying that someone spiked his water in the moments leading up to his fight with Tyson Fury.
