Alfredsson on after 1pm on Jim Rome show

"I'm at the end of my career"

Did he not say that as the minutes ticked away he could "see it coming to an end", shortly after saying that? Worried, but the guy looks like he can go at least one more campaign.

This.

I'm not gonna lie though, all that interview did was make me a little sad knowing realistically it is one hell of a long shot for him to win the cup here before he retires.

I teared up a little.

I have no idea how I will feel or react when the Senators finally win the Cup. It feels surreal just to even think about it.

I disagree.

Sens are still in it against the Pens, and we haven't played as well as we can. Shows what all-world goaltending can do. If Spezza and Karlsson put it together and we beat the pens, we can beat anyone in this league.

Interesting. He was asked to name three ex-senators that he admires. His answer: Chara (Hard working guy), Hossa (again, impeccable work ethic) AND...

Wait for it....

Dany Heatley!:amazed:

Alfie is the most equanimous sport, and it sounded like he was naming some top-tier talents that he had played with in the past. Classy guy. He didn't qualify the Heatly mention as hard-working, just listed him as another of the range of talented guys he'd played with.
