trochek? broken finger? that's wild-his stats since the 4 nations are good. maybe break a couple more fingers and have them remain broken for next season and he'll put up mcdavid numbers. and that's still while in the same line as laff.

I wonder if he will be invited by Team Canada to the World Championships....if he is invited he best get his fat ass/head overseas with them . Maybe Othmann as well .
I thought it was embarrassing that he didn’t make the Four Nations team.

just to name several that were not chosen for the canada 4 nations tourney. last year's version of laff still wouldn't have been good enough to be picked over any of the above.

How would Nylander compete for Canada and Sweden in the same tournament?

Is that the "I've traded you" talk?
Random aside: Kravtsov had himself a good season in the KHL. GWG in game 1 of the playoffs.
The scoring race to watch in these last games: will Alex Laferriere outscore Alex Lafreniere?

Alexis Lafreniere has 17 goals and 45 points in 81 games. Alex Laferriere has 19 goals and 42 points, but in 76 games. A couple more goals, few less points, five less games… he essentially already won. Plus he’s a +23, versus a -13, with a bit more hits, more blocks and slightly less time on ice. Ironically Alex is from Chatham, NJ.

If Rangers have any sway/friendships with Hockey Canada they would be plugging for him to be included in the World Team selection...the kid need to find his game and this could be a stepping stone of sorts. I think Othmann will be there .....and Cuylle who I forgot about .

There were 4 players that didn't register a shot in tonight's game. Can you guess who might have been one of them?
True. But he did ring one off the post in the 1st. Aside from that and him jumping into the scrum (and ending up paired off with Sam Bennet) after Fox got boarded I didn’t notice him much at all. In a good way or a bad way.
It warmed my heart a little to see that entire line, Cuylle, Parsinen and Laf go after the dude who hit Fox from behind. The vets could learn a little something from that.

Didn't Trocheck have a broken hand? Not to debate your larger point.
Broken finger, you could also see it very obviously bandaged and braces during nyr games when he took his glove off. The fact he kept taking faceoff is pretty indicative of the heart Vinny brings...

I feel people try too hard to find the smallest piece of whatever to prop up L-average-iere.
Some people try to find bright spots even in shitty seasons. Some people would rather not. If anyone tries to tell you he had a good season, that’s nuts. If people try to tell you there was nothing good about it, they are also nuts.
At this point, to me, he’s a 23 year old NHLer who had a backstep season. I get people who can’t get past the draft pedigree, I’m just not one of them. At this point it’s practically irrelevant.

I agree, Laf's season was a disappointment but it wasn't so bad that we have to throw away the baby with the bath water. Our next coach/GM have to break though to him. Let him know they expect him to come in to camp in Gary Roberts type shape and they will be testing him.

With that said, if we traded Laf and he scored 14 goals some posters would be talking about him like he was playing like the next Cam Neeley. :D
