Player Discussion Alexandre Carrier

No you're not but Carrier is leaning in to make a play in a very dangerous spot it is what it is.

At the end of the day its hockey being played at a very high level and speed
Yeah that’s a good point. I don’t think all head shots are targeted ones and trying to figure out intent is almost impossible.

Absolutely! It’s ridiculous that that these predatory blindside hits are still allowed. In the OHL anything close to a headshot and it’s almost an automatic game and often a suspension. I thought the Canadian hockey league was supposed to mirror itself after the NHL.
I think it should be more to do with the skating towards the target and the skate off the ice, should be automatic majors. Checks should not come from more than 2-3 steps of speed. Wilson tends to load em with 6-10 steps.

That’s definitely Ovi. Just blatant headhunting

It reminds me of one of the old Playstation NHL 20XX games. The game was OK, but playing 2 player cooperative you could almost always injure the player with the puck. One human player controlling one virtual player hits him into the air, and the player with the other controller uses another player to hit him in the air. In relatively short games you could injure 10 or more players on the other team. The game was old enough that it didn't do line changes correctly (or at all?) which was just as well because one team would have been short players.

When big guys like Wilson or Ovechkin charge players who are already involved or held the chance of injury is really high.

By contrast Anderson has been very physical this series, but he has done it without dangerous plays and without injuring opposing players.

Yep being too nice against a bully always ends up bad

That's a good point.

Wilson's hit is exactly how I defended the neutral zone when playing 'chel.

It takes a mean SOB to do that, but you need a reply for it to stop. Sadly...it's the way it is.

I know Xhekaj has it in him to do something horrible though, we'll see, but I don't think the habs are going away that easily.

Clearly not a bad dman the only issue is that he should be on a third pair. He's playing way to much

He's looked good to me. Not sure why he needs to be on a 3rd pair.

At any rate, perhaps Reinbacher will push him down to the 3rd pair next year:

Matheson Reinbacher
Guhle Hutson
Xhekaj/Struble Carrier.

I we ould lovecto see how Xhekaj looks playing with Carrier.

Matheson needs to get out of the top4. That's too many mistakes. If you wanna build a great defense then you need to have Carrier on a third pair.

Other than Xhekaj, none of them are mean Dmen and certainly not thick, When we lost Weber, Chiarot, and Eddy, no one replaced them really.
