From a glance at some stats, looks like Carrier was really relied on to shut down opposition top lines this year. Probably was in over his head a bit.

He'll probably be tasked with doing the same type of job with the Habs, and he will be better equipped for Top 4 minutes than Barron was for us. Barron struggled even in his insulated minutes on the 3rd pairing.

I wonder if Guhle will be his first partner.

Hutson - Matheson
Guhle - Carrier
Xhekaj - Savard

I remember him from the other week, lost his stick to a Laine shot on that 5 on 3 and then had to just watch the second shot from best seat in the house. If you can't beat them, join them

Something is rotten in Nashville. Look how Fabbro performed after being claimed by the Jackets (though while playing with Werensky)

I expect something similar in Carrier’s case: returning to being an nice top 4 dman.

That is true. After all these years Trotz decided it was time to get a neck.
Gotta be careful what you wish for. :sarcasm:

Brossard, QC
This allows Guhle to play LD.
The problem i see is what becomes of Struble in the short term?
I don't see a future with Struble on the Habs, especially if they plan on keeping Xhekaj. Is he still waiver eligible? Maybe send him down to Laval to get more reps.
