Lmao where was all this Lehkonen love back when he was on the team
Where were the 106 points in 129 games?

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

But really there was love. He's the freaking St Jean Baptiste hero ffs.
Just it was time to move on if we wanted to get this rebuild underway. Same thing for Toffoli who has been excellent for us.

Lehkonen Dach Laine?

Lehk wouldve had 5 points and be -42 due to Kirby sucking hard so far (have to admit it as a staunch KD defender)

Sometimes trades dont work out.
And this was one of them.

I liked Lekonen. I’m glad he has the success he did. I rooted for him just like I will with Barron. Even though this didn’t work out, we got Hage. So I’d say in the long run it’s a trade I’d do again.

Don’t like this trade. We need more big punishing dmen not another smurf that can’t handle physicality

And we also take on a lot more salary

really disappointed and confused

I fully agree with your sentiment.

However, Barron is one of the softest players in the league. While Carrier is far from being a tough SOB, it's still additon by substraction on that front.

Lehkonen for Barron for Carrier….. Hughes is not winning anyway.

You keep Lehky and Kovacevic and the team is already a .500 team, if not more.

Carrier should be ok. He had a 30 points season two or three seasons ago. Always been in the plusses except this season on a god awful worst team than Habs. His salary is a bit high. I guess they gonna trade Savard soon.
And then do we have Reinbacher and Demidov, Hage etc?

What is it that you people want.

We could've been a playoff team if they kept everyone, eventually. But then that's what you've all crucified the other GM's for.

Good trade for us.

For those of you who wanted to be in the mix, he will help.

Not sure what this means for Strubble

I disliked the guy. Maybe not his fault but he would fall down and knock himself out if he had an empty net to shoot at.

He had motor. I liked that about him. Maybe not the most skilled guy but he had heart.

When I look at a player like Joshua Roy, I wish he had more of that. Great skill, cerebral player but he leaves me wanting more. It was his job to lose and he played far too passively. I get that’s his style but he needs to show MORE. Lek may not have had Roy’s talent but he had some and he brought energy. That’s why he was successful on Colorado.

I think this is the key point and why you try to acquire a pool of assets when you're starting your rebuild, precisely so you can make moves like these. Some will bust, but if you can turn a second into a player like Hage it's definitely a win. The other part of the equation is that Lehkonen made the team better and they needed to finish at the bottom a few years.

Carrier also has a bomb of a point shot - something sorely lacking on the Habs PP at present
point shot on the PP? what is this, 2008?

Dobson has pretty much a goldilocks morphology. Too little neck and you're likely headed for a coaching career, the bottom lines or chronic unemployment (this risk doubles and sometimes triples depending on studies if you have narrow eyes as well). Too much neck and you'll be cursed with one of the worst "gifts" one can be born into: talented enough to make the pros, but destined to be the fans laughing stock and soon to be out of the league. You won't make enough income to sustain a whole life, you're likely of average intelligence meaning your prospects outside of hockey are, at best, mediocre and you've tasted just enough of the sweet, sweet nectar of professional sports to be able to be nostalgic about what could have been, but which wasn't ever realistic with your cursed morphology.

Then, you have players like Dobson. You measure the neck and it's, quite evidently, of above average length, but still well within what's considered normal. It's imposing without being in freak territory. Think of a magnificent eagle with its long strong neck, compared to a horrible looking animal like an emu with it's abomination of a morphology, unable to fly or do much of anything except be slaughtered.

Just look at this fine specimen:

Notice the resemblance with one of our prospects, Mailloux. Similar facial structure and features above the filtrum. Where does he differ though ? What makes Dobson a star while Mailloux a player who we fear might become another low IQ player. It's the wide jaw compared to Maillouxs narrower, triangle shaped jaw and chin, highlighting his neck. This triangle shape also appears when you look at him from his profile. Two pieces of evidence to show everyone what I mean:

Look at the blue lines and sharp angles. The whole facial and head morphology pronounces the neck further.

Just beautiful. A perfect specimen.

As many have said, this is an evaluation year. We have young players coming up and they’re probably stack ranking all these guys.

We needed veteran help and they probably figured that Baron was lesser than RB and Mailloux. And if that’s the case then it makes sense to move on from him.

People here seem to like Carriere… great, I don’t know anything about him. I’d have liked some size though. Not even six feet…
