Much ado about nothing. This is his Russian agent making a stink to Russian media. The guy isn't even in communication with Carolina. Nikishin is not going anywhere.

There is absolutely reason to take what is being said with a grain of salt given where it is coming from.

Just FYI puckpedia and other sites are not run by the NHL, they're based on media reports. There have been multiple cases where they had no idea a player had a NTC/NMC.

Just FYI puckpedia and other sites are not run by the NHL, they're based on media reports. There have been multiple cases where they had no idea a player had a NTC/NMC.

My point is work visa wise and personal insurance, one would assume that a contract would be signed before he stepped on a plane????

CAR gives: Alexander Nikishin, 2026 1st (the lower of the CAR/DAL 1sts.) If the DAL 1st should defer to 2027, PIT would get the lower 1st in 2027.

If Carolina never signs him and gets eliminated and Nikishin goes to the AHL does that mean he potentially wouldn't get credit for this year and the contract would roll over?

I can't imagine a scenario where Carolina is down / close to elimination where they wouldn't want to sign him and get him into the lineup, they just look much much better than NJ at the moment so they don't need to put him in.
