Is Gordin a legit prospect?

Not really.

He's finally figured out the VHL the last two years, but at this point he'd probably be in the ECHL if he was in NA.

He has decent size and a very good shoot, but I don't think it's enough to make him more than an AHLer.

Is Gordin a legit prospect?

I don't think he is. As @Treb mentioned, if he does come over, he'll probably be starting in the ECHL and that will end up being similar to Khisamutdinov, who was signed, came over, and was sent to 3R and eventually ended in a contract termination.

I put Gordin in the same category as Kostenko and Sobolev. Russian prospects who are still technically part of the prospect pool, but won't be signed and won't be anything for the Canadiens.
