Player Discussion Alex Tuch (acquired via trade from VGK)

I'm not. It would be monumentally stupid.

Granted, this big brain operation has a tendency toward stupid actions and at some point it wouldn't surprise me if he wants to be near his wife's family.

So I could see it happening based on either of those.

It makes sense if they called his agent to start the early talks of an extension for this summer and the agent said 'Alex has no interest in signing here"

I'm not saying that IS what happened, but...considering last year his name got out there and Adams immediately went out of his way to say "that's not happening" and this year his name is out there and the same thing ISN'T happening.

The organizational embarrassment of not even being able to retain a hometown kid who grew up watching the team would be so massive, I could see them just moving Tuch now rather than have to deal with that this summer.

To be fair... Adams has been in hibernation since December

Soooo... can someone explain to me why we're considering trading Tuch?

Has he lost his love of the game or are we just stupid?

I'd be fine with it, but it can't be for a futures package, which is what would likely comeback in a TDL move. Teams would likely pay the premium for him, so that's enticing.

If you can't put the dots together and see what's going to happen and why than I just don't know what to say.

His name is not out there by accident.

His name is out there because he is a high quality veteran and the Sabres have the worst record in the EC.

If he isn't extended 12 months from now, I could see him getting moved. But, they can't even start talking about an extension until 7/1/2025.

Trading Tuch would be so bad unless he's part of a blockbuster package because a team opts to move a big time player that hasn't been rumored to be available to this point.

For me- it's top-6 C or a certified, shutdown top-4 RD. Someone who would fill a massive hole.

I've been a bit sour on Tuch dating back to last season, but I also have only watched about a 1/5 of the games since then, so my opinion is admittedly pretty ignorant. I do believe he'd do well on another team. I feel like his 'doing too much' blunders are amplified here due to the joke of a team that surrounds him, so I wouldn't be surprised if we're left with a debt of regret after trading him.

Sure, if they can get another adult in the trade that fits a big need, go for it.

But, that kind of deal is unlikely to be out there. Teams that asking on Tuch are going to be playoff teams that are offering some combination of picks, prospects, and young guys and not Whitecloud for Tuch.

What will the fan base be comfortable signing Alex at? if it's over 8 then I'd look to trade him at the draft.

why we trading good vets for anything less than an upgrade ?

Tuch Peterka Stay

If you want to upgrade Top 6F or Top 4 D(RHD)
make 2 packages including Quinn Byram Rosen Oshlund poltapov for that piece. or make more trades with cap strapped team and steal a middle 6 / bottom 4 player and have said player in an increased role. i feel like we're the only team in the league that doesn't make these easy ass trades, washington did it this year with PLD / L. Thompson. literally gifted a starting goalie and top 2 C

any team that is going to look to trade for Tuch is going to be a contender and won't be moving those pieces.
