But the what if did not point into a clear what if Stamkos > Ovechkin for all time player, according to people in that thread, but could be a conversation.

The significantly worst real timeline is just worst than the what if and will not be close.

Peak Ovechkin could score 14 pts, +5 in a single playoff series, have +45/70%GF at 5v5 while being one of the best ever on the powerplay and while both have great longevity by now, this still go to Ovechkin.

What does Stamkos bring that Ovechkin did not do ? The other way around is more obvious.

They had a comparable peak but that's about it. Ovy >>> Stamkos. Ovy is in my Top10 of all time (if he breaks Gretzky's record) and Stamkos is not in my Top100.

If we dismiss the playoff and the 2-3 hits per game, could be unfair and low sample size, but it is hard to imagine 2011 Lecavalier outplay peak Ovechkin.

that could be the product that 2011 Stamkos was the age of rookie Ovechkin that was not making the playoff too...

Stamkos had a single playoff run pre-injury and he was still quite young.
