What a ride this Regular season been, thanks to the chase, probably will not happen
in 50 years something like this, and now playoffs, Ovi could
break Waynes RS+PO record also now, i didnt think that would be
possible before this season, He is 47 behind right now.
One of the most impressive seasons ever at 39 going 40, 44 goals in 65 games.
And handling all the attention like a champ.
Hes gonna do it, from now on I will never bet against Ovi.If he has an 8 to 10 goal playoffs and the Caps go deep, he'll need only about 40 goals next year to pass Gretzky in career regular season and playoff goals (or about 35 goals in the RS and close to five goals in the playoffs next year).
Beyond blessed to grow up watching all threeSaw this on facebook so not sure if already posted or if its old but very classsy of 2 legends congratulting Ovi. Also saw some Penguins fans in the live game feed clapping for Ovis goal last night. Classy stuff.

Fourty-four has a deep meaning.
4 + 4 = 8
His goal scoring instincts haven't declined at all. Makes you wonder how many goals a 23 year old Ovi could put up in today's league. 75+ likely.3rd place in goals (missed 17 games)
2nd in goals/gp
37th in points (missed 17 games)
15th in points/gp
7th in points/60
1st in goals/60 (and a significant lead over #2)
We might not see a 39-year old season like that again for decades.
I hate when people try to diminish his goal scoring by saying things like, "look at how many goals Gartner and Andreychuk scored!" It is very disingenuous. Did either of those players play in his era or lead the NHL in goals nine times or pace for 50+ at age 39?

“He once scored a goal with a pencil. A f***ing pencil.”John Wick of NHL goal scoring.
