Ehhhh I guess we're down to this due to injuries. But once we're healthy, not sure he will play over just about anyone. He sucks defensively and our top 9 is pretty full. I'm not a fan of his game.

Maybe this is pre-cursor to a trade in a week or two if he does well.

It definitely feels like just for the time being, we have 7 forwards on IR so they need anyone they can get to step in

But why not call up a player that’s on a two way deal that doesn’t require waivers like Tverberg or roni

Like other have said complete no risk signing.
That said I don’t see home being a Berube type player at all but who knows maybe he finds some chemistry playing with his brother

Does he need waivers? I’m imagining they’re calling him up on an emergency basis so when we get a bit healthier he can go back to the Marlies with no issues.

They probably want to go with someone who has a bit of NHL experience rather than bringing in more guys playing their first NHL games. Nylander is also a goal scorer and that's something they are sorely lacking in the bottom six. Alex has also had a good season in the AHL so far while Tverberg is struggling and Roni has just been ok.
