Nedeljkovic is only making 2.5, has another year left on his contract, and has a better GSAx than Skinner or Pickard while playing on a much worse team with a more porous defense. He actually goalied the Oilers once this season.

I can't imagine he would cost much to bring over. Maybe a 2nd Round Pick and Olivier Rodrigue? Maybe Pickard and a 2nd (sorry Pickard fans)?

What do Pittsburgh fans think? Am I off about Ned? Do you believe in this guy to carry you into the playoffs? Or is trading Pettersen and DOC a sign that the team has thrown in the towel?

Also interesting to note that he stole the starting job from one Dustin Schwartz disciple already in Tristan Jarry...

Interesting to note that he hasn't had a Game under .905 in his last 5, including a 25-save shutout...and that was after Pettersen got traded (Vinny Desharnais took his place...).

I also see that he had a decent little playoff run in 2020-21 with a .920 in nine games, including facing a combined 97 shots over two consecutive games...yet still had a .907 in both.

Get a better goalie, bro

Get a better goalie, bro

Well if we can't get Gibson or Vejjy, isn't it better we get him than enter the playoffs with what we have?

And not to draw direct parallels, but Roli wasn't exactly considered elite when we acquired him to save us from the fledgling tandem we had in '06.

I think they wanted Bouchard and pick as memory recalls or something

quick edit-- The discussion was not the value of the player but what the other teams is willing to give up

[mod] that assuredly didn't happen.

Most Penguins fans expect like a 2nd or 3rd if they traded Nedjelkovic.

Utah is not dealing Vejmelka for a mid pick. They have 5,000 of them. I do agree that if the Oilers do something they need to do something bigger than this…is current Ned an upgrade at all?

Maybe not a massive upgrade, but we need someone to bail out Skinner when he implodes again and Pickard's GSAx numbers are even worse than Stu's...though Picks somehow scares me far less than Stu when he's in net.

Despite making this thread, I'd be more down for a move that lands us Dumoulin and Gibson, and we're probably just fine with that move alone. But we need a Plan B. And C. And D. All the way to Z when it comes to Skinner.

And yeah, someone pitched a proposal about a 2nd and 3rd for Vej, and Seravelli shot it down because Utah has a shot at making the playoffs and already has an abundance of picks.

If you had any sense, you wouldn’t want Gibson.

Yeah, because he's had so much support. Do you still think Skinner would even be in the NHL behind the defense Anaheim had?
Go examine the saves and goals above expected which tries to level performance. His performance up until this season has been amongst the worst - and worse than other Anaheim goalies playing behind the same defense.

Go get him and waste another year of your core.

I'm glad you mention GSAx because Gibson is currently third in the league for GSAx per 60 with more than 20 games played. If you look at his last five games you'll see that he probably won't be dropping too far down anytime soon. Oh, and look at his last game...955 vs Florida with 42 saves.

Now if you want to talk about past performance, there was a point this season (which actually matters) where Skinner was near the very bottom of the entire league in GSAx.
