Confirmed with Link: Alex Iafallo 3x3.66M

Pleased to see this -- excellent Swiss Army knife role player who has shown tof late that he can hang with the big dogs on the top line, adding some fearsome checking and close-in scoring whilst blending in seamlessly with the cycle game.

Adds structure and scoring wherever he plays in the lineup.

Sterling work by Chevvers.

I think if we could get Apples and Tanev on 1 year deals that would be ideal. Lots of young guys knocking on the door and I'd like them to have some room to make the lineup.

I don't see any chance of Appelton only taking a one year deal. He's going to try to maximize his contract as he hasn't made much cash.

Tanev I could see taking less term and cash if he likes the fit as he's made a good amount already for his role.

Well, the smoke was certainly real. AI wanted to stay and the Jets wanted to keep AI.

Awesome deal. He's a player you know exactly what you are going to get from each and every single night. The best part is, as he has shown the last while with the Vilardi injury, he can play on any line up and down the line-up which is extremely valuable.

They aren't the same player but there's so much Matty Perreault in that sense with Iafallo where he can slot in anywhere. Those guys don't grow on trees and when you can get them at affordable deals -- you take it all day long.

Love the player, love the fit, love the contract.

Yeah I think we could let Apples walk if he wants to. Chibrikov, Lambert, Barlow, Yager will all be knocking on the door next camp. Who knows whats going on with Rashevsky. I think having some open spots on the roster so that if those guys impress we have a spot for them isn't a bad idea.

What is the waiver status for Chibs and Lambert?

Still exempt next year. Chibrkov isn't the following season 26/27, Lambert 27/28.

Ok so not the end of the world then if there isn't spots but I'd like to see atleast one crack the team.

I guess the big question is Ehlers right now upfront. If he's gone a slot opens up for Brad. But Namestnikov hasn't been great the back 1/4 of this year, I wouldn't be inking him into a top 6 role so maybe he drops down the lineup.

Iafflo is like a more durable Matthieu Perrault and almost looks like fourth line Jesus (or at the very least one of the Apostles, hopefully not Judas).
I don't even remember Perrault very well. Wasn't he faster and better offensively worse defensively and as you mentioned often hurt? I honestly am struggling to remember any of our old players who have retired other than Buff.

Either way it will be a set back if Brad replaces Ehlers for the 70 games Ehlers gives us, but, hopefully, the next guy can give us 10-12 extra games.

Ehlers really is the big question mark. If he makes it to July 1st then I think we will need to shift gears entirely and possibly look to a youth movement to fill in the gaps. We have a lot of bottom 6ers like Gus, Barron, JAD, Kupari, Iafallo can slot in there, Nieds as well. Namestnikov like Alex and Nieds can kind of go anywhere in the lineup.

Once we know whats going on with Ehlers everything should fall into place.

Barlow and Yager could use a year of A at the very least but Chibrikov and Lambert should be given a fair shake at the roster. If we have to many guys signed they might not get that fair shake.

Perreault was an angry frenchman who was often injured yes. Played a very chaotic game which often led to injury but was versatile until the end.
