Interesting. Obviously figures he won’t be able to play again, but what if they are cleared of the charges? And he was a legit pro hockey player. Probably a long time NHL’er, but if not at least someone who could make real money in another league.

Seems like he’s losing himself a lot of potential future money with this decision.

Likely a situation where the league(s) know he was the ringleader and no one will attach themselves to him

If there was a chance they were innocent, it would not have gotten that far.

None of these guys deserve the benefit of the doubt.

Be thankful for the fact that he can now fade into the distance and be forgotten. That wouldn’t be the case if he fought for it. By doing this, he did his part to allow people to forget this terrible transgression. It wouldn’t be terrible if all of them did the same.

Isn’t McLeod the one facing additional charges for having a larger role in the incident. End of the day these guys could face no criminal justice but it’s not going to go away. It’s going to follow them and a not guilty verdict isn’t an automatic to return to the NHL.

Hey, that’s the same industry that Jacob Hoggard went into after he was charged with the same thing. Now he’s in jail. Oh well…

Ehh... At this point, isn't it already confirmed that he WASN'T the ring leader?

I obviously have no love for the guy, and wish him the worst, but I am glad he made this decision, it is the right one and I respect him a bit more than the ones running off to Russia to keep playing.
