News Article: Alex Alexeyev - arrested in Arlington

Getting pepper sprayed by police is not a great look, and his spot was already a little dicey for next year. Hope this isn’t it for him here. That said body cam should be pretty wild I imagine he was laying a beat down

25 year old hockey player got in a drunken bar brawl at 3:30AM? This wouldn't even be news in Winnipeg.
Ehhh, Clarendon, don't know if you've been, but it's a younger nightlife, and all the bars are typically closed at 2am. Tony's Pizza is a dive-y joint, one of the few good ones left besides Galaxy Hut, that stays open until 3am and is more of a 'sports bar'.

However, I have visions of a couple of preppy drunks teasing AA about his grill or maybe about how the Capitals played in the POs. And then there had to be an 'oh shit' moment when the action started. haha

Looks like he had fun!

I will hold judgement until I see/hear details, but it’s not a good look for someone hanging on to a NHL spot by a thread. Hope he was just defending himself

Not nearly enough information to pass much judgement. Two things below are related to him just being in Clarendon at 3 AM.

A) On one hand, a 25 year old potentially letting off steam or coming down from the season in a popular area within days of the season ending .. no big deal with him being there.

2) On the other hand.. his wife just had a baby in October. He's been in-season the entire time so far, on the road a lot. Now that he can be at home with her, I'd question why he was in Clarendon at 3 AM. (This assumes his wife is in the DC area still, based on her maiden name she is Russian or Belarusian.)

I'll also note that he wasn't charged with assault and/or battery. Just drunk in public.

See ya later. Already on the fringes and you can't give a team an excuse to let you leave which this undoubtedly is.

Could have friends in town or just blowing off steam. Seems like most of these Russian guys get married pretty young, doesn’t mean they don’t still have the maturity level /tendencies of the typical pro athlete in their early 20’s.

Come on now the season is over. Not like this happened during the season or in the playoffs.

Right, which is why I said I didn't really think it was a big deal. 25 year olds will do things like that.

Assault/battery charges might have changed that perspective.
