Underrated player for the career. Best to him.
Having played a bit of d as a kid, he always played the way I admired. Nothing better than stripping a puck with a poke check from a guy who fancies himself a scorer.Very underrated as he was a shot-blocking machine who held the Cup three times (LAK2, VGK1). Can't even begin to count how many times he saved the Knights' bacon in their Cup drive.

Lived a life that few have sniffed.
Thanks for all you did in LA Alec, a true Kings legend.
Dude has a Cup winning OT goal in front of the home fans. Literally the greatest achievement you could reach in NHL history.
Pretty sure it was an inside joke, iirc.In all seriousness, I wish Sutter would have put the effort to actually ask Martinez what his background is and if he's comfortable wearing that. Just because you have a Spanish surname doesn't mean you're Mexican.
Knowing my luck if I were in NHL player. my cup winning OT goal... would've been an own goal.I always wanted to see it happen, since when Bob Nystrom did it in 1980 I wasn't born yet.
The hockey gods were unkind to me, because I did not want it to happen for the Kings, but oh well.
