No thanks (nor Gillis either).I'd love that. I'd want him in Vancouver for GM.
Surprised people want him fired so bad, Rangers are constantly a top offense despite having no superstars. It's impressive.
Not his fault. The team got worse.

In a league where it's all about matchups they have a severe disadvantage. Only so many points you can squeeze from that roster. I called it before the season started. A lot of people did.Not his fault. The team got worse.
The team got worse and now suddenly a single player can't play a passable game for 60 minutes? The team getting worse makes every single individual player worse as individuals also? This is the correct answer to this thread.
They squeezed 100 with the same roster plus a plodding Derek Stepan and Dan Girardi going out getting shelled in our zone 20 minutes a night. Again, I'll accept that the roster is weaker in some ways and that may be playing a role, but that isn't the core of what this is about if you've watched the team in recent years and are watching them this year.In a league where it's all about matchups they have a severe disadvantage. I haven't got a chance to watch them at all this year. I just know they overachieved last year and got worse in the following offseason. I'm sure a different coach would help but there's only so much a coach can do. I'm sure their record will rebound because they are at or just above a bubble team still, not a bottom team.
Imo they're marginally worse in terms of roster change, not nearly enough to warrant the sort of garbage play they're putting in night after night. If they were playing well and just coming out on the bottom by a goal or two over and over, then I could live with the idea that it's Stepan's scoring missing. But it's not that, it's a lot worse. Even guys who are in the same exact role as last year with the same exact supporting players, like Skjei for example, look lost from one period to the next. There are flashes or normal play and even good play around the roster in any given game but no consistency whatsoever. They look unprepared and confused about their system half the time. Looks like a team that's done with their coach. It happens. I just hope Gorton realizes soon.
I think he's flawed but good overall. Coaches wear out their welcomes though, even good coaches. That does seem to be the coach. I'll have to catch a game. Strange though I thought AV was a good coach. I can't imagine in a market like NY and with their window, a poor coach last too long. The devils top 6 is underrated but look what their style of play has done for them. The rangers have more overall depth and a farrrrrr better D corp. Does he not take advantage of the D?
