Post-Game Talk: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Leafs up 2-0! Win 4-3 Game 2

Game 3 is going to be wild! If the Leafs can somehow pull one out on Friday this series is basically over. I’m expecting a full court press all game from Florida. Leafs gotta take advantage and catch them on odd man rushes. Florida really press down and they got caught more than few times last night
Must games for the Panthers. First goal will be big.

Did they even call a penalty during the play? Or, was it an even upper after the tussle?
Laughton got two minors for roughing so guessing he was not called for the hit from behind which is normally 5 and the game. Thinking it was an even up call for the non call on Bennett in game 1.

There is a good chance that a pointless tournament derailed Florida's season.
Panthers scorers are being neutered by the Leafs D. Reinhart, Tkachuk, and Verhaege are not producing much.

As expected, their 3rd line besting our 3rd line.

Not expected - Willie and Patches owing the Panthers.

I don’t think they even up from previous games.

Pretty much gone exactly as I thought it would, except with more goals than I expected. The games in Florida won't be any different. Florida will squeak out one win, and then this series will end in game 5. The only curiosity right now is whether the Leafs have home ice in the conference final. I expect Carolina to win that series so that the Leafs start the ECF at home, but maybe Washington has another gear.

I was at the game last night. And as my sacrifice, I promised the hockey gods I would do an extra 10 minutes on the exercise bike at the 10 minute mark of the third if we hung on. Leaf nation, you are welcome.

Anyone else find it odd that McCabe and Benoit closed it out last night and neither Tanev or Carlo were out there?

I’m really impresssed by Holmberg. He is playing like a playoff warrior. He gets hit, gets back up. Battles for every puck. I just don’t think he’s suited for a second line, but for a third or fourth line, he’s been good.

Careful. The Sens forum might hear you.

Still wondering how a player who is pasted, face first, into the boards from behind gets an embellishment penalty. Of course it is the NHL and the refs do not need to answer for their actions so we will never know. Pee-wee referring at best last night. Not much better game #1.

The only explanation I can think of is because he snapped his head back when Laughton's stick came up near his shoulder (but it's more likely it snapped back because of contact with the glass). I'd be pissed if I was a Florida fan about that one, just trying to think of what the refs might have been thinking. Head-scratcher for sure.

This is why they signed Craig Berube. He knows what it takes to win in the playoffs. Thank god, Treliving is the GM as well. I was preaching size and speed 7 years ago but the boy genius continued to draft small little shits with 'skill'. I'm loving this playoff hockey after years of not watching those soft Dubas teams. My love for hockey was just dormant and waiting to resurface.

I was wrong on the Tanev signing. I thought he’d be too old when they were ready to win, but with Berube’s style he’s exactly what they needed. Carlo is huge piece back there, as well, but Tanev settles everything down and sets the tone.
I’m at the table with you happily eating my humble pie on Tanev.

I wasn’t enthusiastic on the signing, thinking he was too old, too much mileage, and too long term.

Happy to sit down and eat my crow on him.

He’s amazing and he knows how to win.

If only we had signed him 5 years ago instead of Brodie..,,,,

Think they wanted the meaner guys trying to clear the crease and create some space.
