Post-Game Talk: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Leafs up 2-0! Win 4-3 Game 2

Barkov & Reinhart this series ...... 1 point & -5..... and the point was a ppg

Do I need to remind you of their credentials? Matthews even without scoring is just fine.

That line barely got out alive in the third period. It was luck and Woll

Glad someone said it. People really don’t get that this is the only way we really have a chance to win here, and have other players come up as heroes. It’s astonishing the amount of heat they take when they constantly outscore players of this caliber.

I'm fine with Matthews sacrificing his offense for defense and that has been a key to them winning, but I am a little frustrated with the way he's missed some of his open looks.

They won't come very often so he needs to bury them when he has the chance.

I think that is the issue for many of us. He hasn't had to sacrafice anything, the chances are still there... he is just not finishing. If he was, this team would look unbeatable!

This is great. I still won't be satisfied until Matthews scores more.

He can save it for later in the playoffs, that is fine.

It is a tough matchup, and to be on the plus side two games in should probably get more notice. Good job in posting it!
Obviously he's saving it for round 4...

Or at least that's what I think @Evilhomer is thinking. ;)

Having a coach to teach the team how to play a complete game get enough goals and lock down your own end is how win in the playoffs you have grind out wins very rarely are there blown out games defense wins
Credit to the maturity of the players too for being willing to accept the message and then execute it! This was the battle Babs lost... he had an immature bunch that though they knew everything. They didn't. And were losers for 8 seasons. No doubt that helped them realize!

Well I mean I’m starting to have faith and it feels good. If they take that away from me then so be it, but I think we’re headed in the right direction.
They're definitely headed in the right direction so far, but I need to see more before I REALLY start believing in them. Too much pain and suffering with their past playoff performances to just believe that this year they're different until they prove it to us consistently. The first 2 games against the Panthers are certainly very good performances in getting people to change their minds about them. 👍 👍 👍

Enjoy the ride my friends. Everything is different. Matthews scores less but shuts down the other team at the end of the game. We actually have a goal tending tandem that is solid. We are usually the alpha in the room. Some kid name Knies is a bad ass player. New coach. New GM. New team and attitude. That stat that said like 80% of hockey is played within three feet of the boards ( number might be slightly off, but i'm freaking happy) we never owned that three feet. Now we're at least even or better. This TEAM blocks shots. Eats pucks. It's different now. Enjoy the ride.

Babcock didn't really want them to lock it down, though; to this day I have no idea what the hell style Babcock wanted them to play. It didn't look a damned thing like anything he coached in either Anaheim or Detroit, and you're not going to tell me that the entire team, including the guys he demanded Lou bring in for him, refused to play his style properly...

Personally, I think by the time he got here, his ego was so inflated that actually coaching had taken a backseat to power moves and stoking said ego.
