When Woll let in that first goal beat clean I thought he was gunna get lit up. Credit to him sticking with it and he got better as the game went on. Some big saves late to keep it 4-3. Willy styles and patches unreal.

Glad someone said it. People really don’t get that this is the only way we really have a chance to win here, and have other players come up as heroes. It’s astonishing the amount of heat they take when they constantly outscore players of this caliber.

I thought they struggled tonight and still came out on top.

In most playoffs they play winning hockey even if they aren't putting up insane numbers, they are still scoring more than getting scored on, and that is most important.

I still think they have more to give, but it must suck playing against that line.

"Everyone" does not mean every single person in this situation, just a lot of people, especially from the GDT, there is a lot of hate for Marner and Matthews.

They are likely playing the best defensive line in the league and winning 3-0 right now, it is not an easy task and they may look terrible at times.

I think it will be the complete opposite. Florida is going to have to play an honest game being down 2 games. Leafs are taking the 3rd game as well.

That's why I said 'pretty much invisible'. Yes, he scored the game winner, but did little else before that. And his goal was as much a surprise to him as everyone else.

M&M are paid to be superstars, but never play like superstars in the playoffs. One game winning goal (the first third period go ahead playoff goal of his career, ffs!) and a couple of good minutes of defensive play does not erase the f*** all else he has done.

I used to love the kid and hoped he would be our next Gilmour, now I just want him gone.

Dude has 10 points in 8 games. 2 goals (game winner in game 2 of 2nd round). Thats over a point a game. I don't think you understand just how tough that Barkov line is to score against. You think Willy scores as much if the top defensive players are on him every shift of every game? Everyone is contributing which is exactly what the Leafs need. Even their D is getting in on it.

I know people are freaking out that the first line is not doing enough...

They are 3-0 at 5v5 and are spending most of their time against two Selke nominated players and an amazing top line, they have to work for everything.

The Barkov line is 0-3 at 5v5 this series.

This is great. I still won't be satisfied until Matthews scores more.

He can save it for later in the playoffs, that is fine.

It is a tough matchup, and to be on the plus side two games in should probably get more notice. Good job in posting it!

For sure want that split on the road. It doesn't matter which game we get... this board will overreact either way... But if they can find a way to get one there, we might be in business.

So far, nothing has happened other than the Leafs have done what they had to do.

Of course we will be happy with a split (and very disappointed with two loses), but we want two.

Good to see Woll look better as the game went on. Not too good in the first couple of periods, but much better in the 3rd. Lets hope he can keep improving if Stolarz is going to be out for longer.

Also great to see the team not fold and keep fighting back even when they gave up goals. I think many people were worried if they could compete with the Panthers and not get blown out of the water like they did the last time they played each other in the playoffs and so far they've been able to match them and play just as well if not better at times.

Pacioretty really bringing it so far ever since he got back into the lineup and he's laying out some big hits and looking dangerous on offense. Laughton looking solid as well. Still hoping he can be better and provide abit of offense, but at least he looks like he's getting comfortable playing center and doesn't look out of place like when he first got here.

Also defense is looking solid so far. What a difference it is when Rielly isn't playing the most minutes in a game every night anymore. Good to have a shutdown pair in McCabe and Tanev and also having a good 3rd pairing that can give you 15+ mins a night that you don't have to shelter much. And yes big bodies is the way to go with defensemen. Leafs Dmen ain't getting pushed around by anyone anymore.

We can play defence. Defence wins championships. And ppl are still surprised somehow. And that is with utilizing probably less than 50% of our offensive power. We are cruising at third gear.

Can't win both on Friday though, so the focus has to be on game 3 and ONLY game 3. Which I am sure it will be.

Berube clearly has these guys on a feeding tube and they eating it all up.

The coaching impact is being under reported I feel... it is clear he is a major difference maker.
