Post-Game Talk: AHHHHHHH!!!! Leafs win 2-0 Game 6

Swollen eye Matthews has entered the series.

This reminds me of something. How many players have won the cup while also having all of their teeth?

How many teeth has Matthews lost in his career so far?

Get in there and get a fat lip, a black eye or two and don’t be afraid of losing some teeth. All the greats have done it. They have amazing dentists that’ll fix you all up

James Tanner would flat out tell you that Holl is better than Carlo
James Tanner is a parody at this point; he criticizes every move the Leafs make from a simple viewpoint. "Would Dubas have made that move? What do the advanced stats say? Oh, no and terrible? Then it's BAD!"

He was calling for the Leafs to release Patches and put Easton Cowan straight into the lineup from training camp. He massively criticized signing Tanev and OEL and said they should just play Lilly instead. He spent most of the season complaining about Benoit being in the lineup at all (along with Domi).

Tanner has become just another sorry assed sluggo at this point🫣

The ESPN announcer I keep hearing in the highlights said "he didn't have much on it". Dunno what he was watching because it looked like an old days Matthews laser to me.
Looked like a partial screen from the d-man may have prevented Bobrovsky from tracking the puck until it was too late. As long as it went in.

Proud of you all last night to win and escape losing a guy to the accidental people's elbow to the head Florida is allowed to do at will .
For the dirtiest team in hockey, they sure have been escaping penalties this series. They have had 14 power plays to our 8 in the last 3 games. Mind boggling really. Our star center almost lost an eye last night with no resulting penalty.

The biggest surprise about Benoit is how good of a skater he is for a "defensive defenceman".

He can really skate, especially when moving up the ice.
He’s only 26, which is still relatively young for a defenseman. During an interview, Tanev mentioned Benoit and spoke highly of him, not just about their growing chemistry on the ice but also the bond they’ve developed off it. He described Benny as an incredibly hard worker who’s eager to learn and said he’s been sharing whatever knowledge he can. Who knows, we might really have a hidden gem on our hands.

One of the best attributes about Benoit is that he's fearless.

Tanev is an absolutely perfect mentor for Benoit

Benny is definitely a keeper until it's time for him to cash in. He's been what we need when we needed it. Absolute warrior.

Both of our goalies have received headshots with no penalty. It’s actually a miracle we got to 7 with the defending champs when it’s so obviously rigged in their favour

You keep them if they're good tho
Not in today's NHL. I doubt he'll be worth his next contract. But good for him. You go out and prove it and put your health on the line, go get your bag. No one will question it. Until the next team realizes they're paying 2nd pairing money for a 3rd pairing warrior.

Pretty amazing how we just watch every year go by where the opposition get way more PP's than us. I think the Ottawa series is the only series you could argue was in our favor lol.

So this makes you wonder, are our core 4 really as bad as we make out with this ridiculous disadvantage combined with facing a Vezina winning goalie in every single series? It’s a certainly a little out of the ordinary.

4 guys, 47 million dollars, 12 games, 16 goals. I’d think they aren’t playing well.

I read his articles to laugh, because most of the takes are so out to lunch. The one thing he clearly hates is any attempt to make the team bigger or tougher, complaining that pure skill is always better.

He also really hated the Stolarz singing and argued that the Leafs should have targeted John Gibson instead. Because they needed a "proven starter" not a "backup".
