Win the next game and we're back
I’m worried him and the rest of the D will be soap if they do win this series, even the strongest have their breaking point………Chris Tanev, poor guy, taking a beating out there. I actually kind of feel bad for him, in all honesty. Getting grinded into a pulp.
True story: I was at Casino Rama about 15-20 years ago (we were really there to see Loverboy - don't judge) and I played craps for the first and only time, I had no idea how to play, just did what the dealer told me to do. I rolled the dice in my hands like that before every roll and called it "The Miagi". At one point, no word of a lie, I had a crowd 4 people deep all around the table.![]()
He certainly pasted him on that play, the Rat looked like a conehead his helmet was push so high up on his head his strap was strangling him……..
To be fair even taking the results out of it Matthews was great. Maurice said the game wasn't that different to game 5 and Florida got multiple bounces that game they don't normally get. I would agree with him more or less saying the Leafs were not as bad as people are saying in game 5 and not as good as people are saying in game 6. If you read the posts in the GDT before Matthews scored most of us were not happy with how the team played overall. Florida had like 3 shifts in a row where they hemmed 3 different lines for more than a minute straight. I do think people evaluate performance too much based on results but I think Matthews had a good game 6 regardless. He made 1 or 2 boneheaded plays but he was good.I am not picking on you. You are a good poster.
This is a great example to remember. Everyone was great because we won? I also see a lot of posts about Matthews stepping up etc etc
The difference, was 1 shot. That Bob likely wants back. Casual fans are so result focused that they really don’t know or don’t understand how to judge the players.
If we lost that game, not a single fan would have said Matthews was great. People don’t understand the margins that affect wins. Right now. Razor thin.
It’s the part about this board I hate. (Not you OP) Lazy takes…

Hasek dove to make saves. What I mean is it seems like Bob and their team is always embellishingHasak was also a flopper, but he could keep the puck out of his net, and to me I could care less what a goalie looks like preventing goals…….

Moxy says high……I love everything about this post, STARTING with Loverboy, one of my favourite overlooked Canadian bands, along with Triumph, who I’m loving seeing Lay It On The Line being introduced to another generation of Canadians.

And people wonder why the fan base is bipolar...No kidding.
We literally just saw the absolute worst and best from this team in the span of 48 hours.
Not his best shot for sure on that goal, but maybe it helps him build on something. I meant his game overall was good more so than the shotI didn't think it was a good goal, and not because of offside... but it is a goal Woll would get roasted for.
Yeah, Maurice was talking about the blow-out game and said analytics don't match the results. That they had multiple good bounces.
I don’t think caring less will help them. It’s fear of failure and the attending criticism that gets in their heads. As Berube says, just go out and play with grit and determination. Win puck battles, block shots and bear down on scoring opportunities. Play a simple game. The rest will take care of itself.Gobsmacked actually..played great..if they lay an egg , again , at home Sunday then we will have to assume they just can't handle the pressure.. not a sports psychologist but is it possible that they care TOO much??
