Each team in the group have 2 games remaining after tomorrow and presumably a Swedish win over Austria leaving them in first with 6 points. If they win out they get first but if they lose to either Russia or the USA in their remaining games then the team that beats them would hold the head to head tie breaker. The Czechs have a pretty remote chance at first that includes pulling off another big upset of their own in beating the Americans and needing help from Russia or the Americans in beating the Swedes as Sweden would definitely have the tie breaker over them.
Thanks!

Shouldn’t the Czech be ahead of Russia in the standings because they are in even points and Czech won Russia?

Not if the Czechs, Russians and U.S. all finish with the same number of points.

Again, a million things can happen. :)

Because I need something to think about, Group B plays out this way - assuming both Russia and the Czechs both beat Austria.

**

If Russia and the U.S. both beat Sweden...

Russia
U.S.
Sweden
Czechs

**

If Sweden beats both the U.S. and Russia...

Sweden
Russia
U.S.
Czechs

In this case, Sweden finishes first with 12 points.

Russia, the U.S. and the Czechs finish with 6.
The Czechs have the worst goal differential of the 3 so they finish 4th.

Russia beat the U.S. so the U.S. gets 3rd place.

**

If Sweden beats the U.S. but loses to Russia...

Russia
Sweden
U.S.
Czechs

**

If Sweden loses to the U.S. but beats Russia...

U.S.
Sweden
Russia
Czechs

**

Feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

O.T. in either of the Sweden games and everything changes.

US wins Gold, and their games aren’t even close.
Russia gets Silver losing to the US in the ?Final 5-1.
Sweden gets the ?Bronze by beating Canada 4-2.

Group A...

Canada vs Finland looks like it will determine 1 and 2.
The rest isn't worth working through.
