After adding Muzzin, where does the Leafs defense rank?

If we're going to be ranking each player relative to their position from 1 to 31. Not specifically compared to each player for every team at that position but just in general relative to a player usually playing that spot

Rielly - 5
Muzzin - 15
Gardiner - 10
Zaitsev - 25
Dermott - 5
Hainsey - 15

That averages out to 12.5, so maybe top 15? I voted top 10 before I did this calculation FWIW

With Muzzin their top 3 is “good” not great. It falls off quickly after those 3 though.

Edit - I like Dermott and he will be a good player but he’s not there yet

I also see some people have no idea how good Dermott is. He is a future top 4 d-men for the Leafs with great underlying numbers. Getting Hainsey to play with now might help both of them. If the Leafs could somehow dump Zaitsev and upgrade there they would be a top 10 group

Muzzin doesn't play right side so I'd say around 20th. What teams definitely have worse D? Can't think of many.

Nice LHD, bad RHD.

Overall above average, 10-15 I'd say maybe closer to 15. Definitely not a tire fire, but also definitely their weakness (along with maybe some muscle up front).

Still a contender but I feel maybe missing a piece or two to become a favourite.
