He's a bargain at that number compared to Samuelsson.I don't understand $2.5m aav for JBD.
He was a #7/#8 dman for Ottawa and played 13 games for the Sabres during a major hot streak for the whole team.
He's a bargain at that number compared to Samuelsson.
My guess is that being a former 1st round pick that is a RHD are two big factors in that number.
Am I out to lunch saying I'd take any of them at those prices?
I think the challenge is that those prices do not reflect the Sabres tax that they would likely have to pay to land one of them.Am I out to lunch saying I'd take any of them at those prices?
I dont see a way Bennett signs for less that 7.5. He brings too much to the table and has another potential level to go up if given the PP time. 7.5 for a 50 point guy who may become a 65 point guys, with good two way game and proven playoff production? I think plenty of teams take that in a heartbeat.

He gets 17:30 a game, and if a team wants to move that up to 18:30-19 and give him more PP time, I could see higher production. If the plan is to sign him to a big deal, feed him proper PP1 time and ES minutes, he absolutely could increase production another 25%Bennetts about to turn 29. Why do we think he's suddenly going to add 30% to his production?
