AFP projects him at 5x$5.4M. But, those are their midterm projections. My guess is that when they update things later today, it will go up.
AFP updated their outlooks this morning.
The updated outlook for Gavrikov is 7x$7.6M AAV.

So Rochester-based AFP Analytics has their spreadsheet of contract estimates that they put way, way more time into this than just about anyone in the public space anywhere else published today.
I like that they have the contracts in a band for best and worst, with a reference to tax free locals.
Quinn - $1.5M
JJ - short-term $4.6M, long-term $7.8M for 7 or more
Bryam - short-term, $5.4M (that loses him to UFA), long-term $7.1-$7.5M (buys UFA years)
A 40-goal scorer making $7M should not be in a list of inefficient salariesImagine having 25 milly in cap tied up in Thompson, Peterka, and Power over the next 5-6 years. It’s a recipe for perpetual playoff failure, assuming we even make the playoffs.

I'd love to see them have fun with it and go with a $7.77M AAV.I'm going max term with JJ at $7.8M x 8.
In two years if he has stagnated as a floaty 30g guy, the new cap will still make him a $6M+ player. On the other hand, if he blossoms into a 40g guy with a more well rounded game, he's probably $12M in the triple digit cap world.
We can't lure high-end talent here in UFA, so we gotta take the risk of locking down our potential home grown skill imo.
jc17 was talking about Tage being a 40 goal scorer making $7M.Why don't we see if he can hit 30 goals one time before pronouncing him an eventual 40 goal scorer. Or am I missing something here?
Clifton at 3.3M for one more year isn't really affecting our cap either way. He's a fine 3rd pairing defenseman who can PK..............as long as that's all we ask him to do.Moving out Sammy and Clifton (and Byram) = healthier salary cap.

Wrapping so much of your cap space around 3 players with dubious defensive instincts is the problem. Keep Tage, ditch the other two.A 40-goal scorer making $7M should not be in a list of inefficient salaries
