I thought the same thing and commented so to my wife.
She and I were at the game. Enjoyed it immensely. So glad not decided by the officials and, as I predicted, turnovers were the factor.
Slammed with work this week. May reply more this w/e before Sun. gametime, but likely not.
Looking forward, wife will be in Europe for work on Feb 9th, and we would not be together to watch/enjoy the game.

Micah Hyde has had a different experience than most in the locker room — a similar one to many reading. The longtime Bills player spent the first three months of the regular season in San Diego with his family as a Bills fan before returning to the team’s practice squad in early December.

“S—, all of ’em. That boy’s a beast, I was like yelling at the TV,” Hyde initially said when asked to pinpoint his favorite Allen moment. “Even though he’s my teammate, my buddy and whatever, like, just to see him from where he was when he got here to where he is now. I’m like a proud uncle, because I’m just like, dude, it’s amazing what he’s able to do week in, week out.”

It’s to the point where, especially after big plays in games, Hyde’s young son has a particular request.

“He always wants to be Josh Allen, especially when we’re playing,” Hyde said. “I’m like, what about 23?”

Fourth-and-2 vs. Kansas City

Hyde: “I said, ‘That’s what I’m talking about, Sean [McDermott]. That’s what I’m talking about.’ Great call from the jump. Even if we don’t get it. That’s how you got to be aggressive playing against a good team that you know, we’ve had success against in the regular season, obviously not the playoffs, but like, you got to take it to ’em. And so the first thing I thought was ‘Good s—, Sean.'”

Gilliam: “It was kind of like in the Steelers game of the playoffs last year, that long [52-yard touchdown] run he had. It’s the same thing. You think he’s just going to get what’s necessary… no, like, he’s a gamer. He’s going all the way.”

Epenesa: “I think that’s one of my favorite ones just because that’s who he is.”

Brown: “It’s just him being him.”

Gilliam: “We get doubted so much. So when he turns on that mode where he’s like, ‘I can’t be stopped,’ it’s so much fun to watch.”

DT Jordan Phillips: “I felt like that was a defining moment for us, to be honest with you. Just because it was like, we were getting over the hump and he put it on his shoulders.”

Gilliam: “When it gets down to like a crunch or clutch time like that, you know 17’s going to take over.”

I love Josh Allen, but Mahommes has 2 MVPs and 3 super bowl titles and 4 conference championships. I get he's had better teams around him, but I don't think its a conversation, especially with Allen being 0 and 3 against him in the playoffs.

Until Allen has some hardware to backup the eye test that we all see, it can't be a serious conversation.

I think you can make a case that Allen has had a better season than Mahomes so far, but, if we lose on Sunday, I don't think it matters much.
Not directed to you singularly, because others make that argument too. I just don't buy it. When Allen is on the field, Mahomes isn't spying him, or rushing him, or defending his wide receivers. Same with Mahomes; Allen is on the bench. Each plays against a defense, not the other individual. To distill the argument to a single QB vs. QB ignores the other matchups. Kelce vs. defender A,B,C. Chris Jones vs. Bills OT, etc.

Similarly, the hardware argument isn't airtight, and is arguably very leaky. Were Super Bowl winners Doug Williams, Jeff Hostetler, Mark Rypien, Jim McMahon, etc., better QBs than Dan Marino, who only played in 1 Super Bowl and lost?
In the end, its a single game elimination. We can play perfect on sunday, and still lose on some dumb bounce at the end of the game. Conversely, we could play poorly and still get the win.

Baltimore played well enough to win last week and didn't because they made 2-3 crucial mistakes. We played well enough to win and didn't make those mistakes. NFL is probably the most heart breaking sport because 8 months of hype and work can go up in flames in 3 hours.

But....I think this falls under its better to have loved and lost and not loved at all. lets get our hopes up and get some of that hopium, even if it means we might get hurt again. Life is f***ing short.
Exactly my thinking.

You are correct, but in the end, wins matter. Marino owned every passing record for a bit...most wouldn't consider him the best QB from his draft due to his lack of post season success.

Super Bowl wins don't define a QB, but, when you are talking about the best QBs in the NFL, having one matters.

It's not Josh Allen's fault he's in the same conference as the Chiefs during their dynasty. If we were in the NFC we likely have 1-2 super bowl appearances already. But you also can't say it doesn't matter. And I get QBs don't play each other....but...they do in a sense. Buffalo had an opportunity last year to drive down the field and get a game winning TD vs Kansas City. Allen didn't deliver. And that matters.

Cowboys naming OC Brian Schottenheimer HC by Friday

Could help in keeping Brady if the Jags go Kellen Moore. But still leaves New Orleans...
Brady could always pull his name out as well like Cohen did for the Jags job. Does he want to go to Jags with new gm and that owner ?, or with Carr/Rattler on Saints ?

I mean.......who are the options better than Rodgers out there? Certainly not one of the rookies coming out in the draft. Darnold? Minshew?

Rodgers might just be their best QB option...........
Depends on the OC they decide to hire. It may not become about talent level, but scheme fit. Rodgers is limited in that.

Rodgers has shown that he's not that interested much into committing into an offense game calling scheme that doesn't rely on him making plays, and that was with an OC that he had leverage/influence with. IF Glenn decides he wants a more running game-based offense, Rodgers can't be trusted to stick with it. He's also shown he's greatly declined in his physical tools, and he's probably not the best teacher to help for the future. If the Jets are thinking long term, Rodgers is probably not the best fit for them.

Without knowing the market of which QBs will be made available, or which ones can be had via trade, there are plenty of options that are plausible/reasonable to think that NY COULD look at.

Fields could be an option for NY, Mac Jones could be an option, Winston, Bridgewater could be an option. There are plenty of roads NY could go down.

It 100% looked like Josh was thinking about it, and even Romo caught it and cringed and said nooope. But the defenders were all over josh.

If Cook got the ball he probly scores. But Josh is getting mauled and that is a super risky pitch back.

Josh admitted that he thought about it and that the younger version of himself would have gone for it.
