That's how it is with my Reebok stick, never have issues! And I also use a low flex.I've experienced the same thing when switching to a lower flex. I just had to adjust. Try to catch your passes closer to the heel of the stick and with the blade as vertical as possible when you can. You'll notice that you can stop most passes with the heel of the stick even when you're holding it loosely with only the top hand.
