Advice on new stick - cant catch passes but great slapper

I've experienced the same thing when switching to a lower flex. I just had to adjust. Try to catch your passes closer to the heel of the stick and with the blade as vertical as possible when you can. You'll notice that you can stop most passes with the heel of the stick even when you're holding it loosely with only the top hand.
That's how it is with my Reebok stick, never have issues! And I also use a low flex.

Just as a follow-up on this stick, I know it was me who was clumsy catching passes.

I took a class over the weekend and had some powerful passes that were well directed at me and the puck didn’t bounce or fly off the blade. The stick worked very well once I built some confidence with it. I’ll admit during some games I was praying for people to not pass it to me and if they did my first thought was, “I’m gonna screw this upâ€. Not a good mindset to have.:shakehead

So, bottom line I really do like this stick. I have a great slapper that I have NEVER experienced before and attribute it to the lower flex.

Thanks a bunch for all the suggestions and importantly the suggestion from Jarrick to try an intermediate stick.
