I know. But they're professionals and he's a seasoned vet. As long as the habs don't underestimate him, they should be fine.

I don't think anyone will underestimate him. Plekanec, Pacioretty, Gallagher, Galchenyuk, Prust, DD, Eller, Markov, Subban, etc. were all on that team that got embarrassed by them in 2013, in large part, due to Anderson. No chance these guys take it lightly.

That said, there's no doubt that he's coming in cold. Really cold. We have to throw pucks at the net and get in his face. Thankfully, with guys like DSP and Weise, we know that'll happen to some extent. And if DSP plays the way he has these past two games, he's bound to pot at least one.

If we can stop the mad rush from Ottawa pretty quickly and get a few shots on net early we might pot a lucky one against Anderson.

4 games since january with one win and under. 900 in that stretch.

We can't let him get his confidence up, my game plan would be if you have a lane shoot it, dont wait for a nice opening just shoot the damn puck, at least for the first 10 minutes.

It's now or never for the Sens.

Price is gonna steal this one for us tonight.

I wish this shot was framed just a little higher so that we'd see the shot curve better. Part of the reason why Hammond reacted that way is because the shot curved towards his head.

The puck was going through the air at a 45 degree angle with a lot of spin on it. Total ******* of a shot. The board set-up PK perfectly.

Hammond played his first NHL game against us before he went on his hot streak.

Yes, but he was playing in the AHL, not sitting on his ass and practicing.
Anderson played 4games in 3months. When you're off that long your reflexes just aren't as sharp. You're not getting these bullet shots during practice. It's just not the same.
Doesn't mean he can't win or play well. It'll depend how quickly he can adapt back and how tough we make it on him.

Hammond was like their "Lucky Charm". If Anderson fails, they are out of it in four games.

The last time the habs won games 1 and 2 games at home was in 2008 against Boston.

Montreal ended up losing game 3 in OT and the series ended up going seven games.

That's just an example of how a series can swing. I'm hoping for the best.

Reminds me of me the one and only time I played in net when I was 16. Every high shot I did the same.

I played goal for 16 years, you eventually just get used to trusting your equipment, personally I remember being more scared when the puck was coming up for my neck area and tucking my chin way down.

Either way a fantastic shot that's as tough a shot to save as there is. The puck definitely curves as well.

When he's on, he's one of the best "first save" goalies in the league IMO.

In other words, if he's on, the habs are going to be starving for goals.

When he's on he is, he's also very inconsistent, coming off a 35 game season without playing in weeks.

I think Habs will need Carey to steal this one, and I think he'll be ready :yo::yo:

Hammond was shaky as hell. I guess you didn't watch the game because if it wasn't for luck it would've been 5-6 goals against him. Like he said himself, he had many "brain farts" last game. Anderson is a much, much better goaltender than Hammond. Since the run began people think Hammond is better than Anderson, not true at all. More experience, has played well under pressure, playoffs two years ago vs Montreal, was top 5 in the league save % before his injury on a bottom 5 team. The question that remains to be answered if he's rusty or not. Last game he played against Boston he dominated but the team was a no show. If there's one goalie I'd be more scared of, it's certainly not Hammond. Andy much more proven playoff competitor. As I said, remains to be seen if he's ready.

You can say that for pretty much every goalie in every game. You think the two goals that Price let in last game were awesome goals that he just couldn't save?

Anderson is better than Hammond. One is a career AHLer, the other is a poor #1. So ya, Anderson is better but I'm not scared of him.
What happened two years ago is irrelevant. I don't know why people still bring this up. Our bottom pair on defense was Bouillon and Tinordi for crying out loud. Price also was letting in major major stinkers. Pacioretty, Gionta, Eller, Emelin were all injured and either missed the entire series or part of it.
On Ottawa, they had a certain Alfredsson, as well as Silfverberg and Gonchar was their #2 Dman. Neil was also still somewhat significant back then, could be used regularly around 12min a game, now he's regularly scratched and couldn't even average out to 10min of ice time.

All that aside, the Habs have also gained a lot of experience as a group. The core is intact and they've been through it together.

So ya, it's completely different situations.
