Cooperstown is next.

I once saw Adrian Beltre sign balls for fans at Nationals Park. He was the only Rangers player to do so. Everyone else just walked by as fans were clamoring for autographs. This man took time out of his busy day to sit by the dugout and fans threw him baseballs and he signed. He is a good man.

A unique combo of offense and defense, he's top 40 all-time.

Top 40 what? Players in MLB history named Adrian?

He finished his career with a .339 OBP and a .819 OPS

For comparison sake, Scott Rolen finished with a .364 OBP and a .855 OPS

damn i was hoping he'd try to get to 500 HRs

crazy how he was seen as nothing more than a one year wonder and a disappointment basically up until he got to texas

Rolen is really underrated. I knew he wouldn't make the HoF, but I think he fell off the ballot on his first one.

Honestly, Beltre will get in because of the 3000 hits. I still think he's a HoFer, but the counting stats definitely help him a lot.

The thing with Beltre... was he ever considered a top three player at his position at any point?

Certainly in 2004 he would've been: Adrian Beltre Stats | Baseball-Reference.com

Beltre will get in because he has almost 100 career WAR. In fWAR he is currently 26th all time, just below Cal Ripken and Albert Pujols. He is ahead of players like Ken Griffey Jr, Roberto Clemente and Jeff Bagwell.

Along with 2004, Beltre also led all third basemen in fwar in 2012, just ahead of Miguel Cabrera. He was second to Evan Longoria in 2010, and second to Donaldson in 2014.

His longevity and durability are underrated. Beltre has 900 more games played and 3600 more plate appearances than Scott Rolen.

Scott Rolen has a good case for the HOF too. According to BR he has the numbers of an "average HOF third baseman."

JAWS
Third Base (10th):
70.2 career WAR / 43.7 7yr-peak WAR / 56.9 JAWS
Average HOF 3B (out of 14):
68.4 career WAR / 43.0 7yr-peak WAR / 55.7 JAWS

One of THE most respected players of all time.

Hopefully Cooperstown doesn't do something stupid and put a Mariners or Dodgers cap on his head.

He'll get into HOF and rightfully so.

When he does get in Andrus should be there to pat him on the head.
