Well we are a little better at home than on the road so i don't think finishing 1st is a bad idea.
I wish Lowry the best and I hope his recovery goes well. I hope this doesn't impact his life outside the rink too much and he is capable of doing most of the things he did before for the next several decades.
Based on my look at players who have had hip surgery, they are never the same afterwards. Their quality of play drops and some retire shortly thereafter. There is a good possibility we have seen the last of Lowry as a dominant defensive centre in the NHL.
Chevy will likely be looking for replacements at second-line centre AND third-line centre in the near future.

As much as most of us appreciate Lowry thank God you aren’t the GM. Even if Lowry was a picture of health you are ideally looking at a 3 or maybe a 4 year extension.

Since the hip injury was something Lowry was able to play through for half the season, he most likely had a labral tear and/or femoroacetabular impingement (FAI). This is a common problem for hockey players, and requires arthroscopic surgery to repair.
One recent study of hockey players who had arthroscopic hip surgery for labral tears and/or FAI found that almost all of them (89%) returned to play the following season, with "no significant decreases in performance in any advanced statistics". Team-based advanced performance statistics considered in the study included icetime, Corsi, Fenwick, goal, and expected goal percentages

Tyler Seguin had arthroscopic hip surgery in early December, and returned to the lineup for the Stars in the regular season finale in mid-April. Seguin previously had surgery on the other hip in November 2020, returning just before the end of that season.
There's an Athletic article that details his injury, surgery and rehab process in 2020-21. It lists a number of other Dallas Stars players who had hip surgeries around that time, including Jamie Benn, John Klingberg and Valeri Nichuskin.

Obviously that doesn't mean Lowry's surgery is no big deal, but it's a fairly common problem for NHL players and one that many players have returned from in good shape.
Impossible! Every one of our on board Dr's said they noticed something in the playoffs.
I remember when Selanne's career was over after his achilles injury. Until it wasn't.

Barron will fill his spot, and maybe turnout better, except being an enforcer like Adam is great at.

Marchand had bilateral labrum repairs I think. And he came back strong that year he returned.
Totally depends on the diagnosis, procedure, the rehab plan, and the player. If the official stance is “full recovery” then I expect it was likely something minor like a scope (arthroscopy) which itself can be used to surgically treat or repair a few things.

Lowry is only 30 years old, he will be fine , maybe even better...... 
Also don't think Vilardi was truly fully healthy when he came back.

Lowry is only 30 years old, he will be fine , maybe even better......
32. (March 29, 1993). Still, they said they expect full recovery so that is good enough for me.

He didn't look right for awhile and its the first time I have seen him take big hits and not win them

3 would take him through his 36 YO season. So that is probably already including a retirement bonus season.
When Scheifele got hit dirty if Lowry was healthy i think he would have tuned Schenn up right away.

Can't be too minor if it is a 6 month recovery time. But we have no reason to panic here either.
I expect him to miss ~the 1st mo of next season and to come back strong. Meanwhile Barron gets an opportunity to show that he can move up a level.
