He'll be a highly sought after free agent on the cusp of big money... I hope
His media availability the other day was good. Said he'd been trying to get on the PK for 7 years, always did it on college, and has been going to all the PK meetings just in case he got the opportunity.
I wouldn't re-sign him, I'd rather get someone who's more defensive minded for the 4th line, but credit where it's due, those 19 reg season goals, and his short handed assist in the playoffs are important parts of our success so far, even if they were admittedly completely unsustainable. He'll be a highly sought after free agent on the cusp of big money... I would tend to agree that we do need a more 'traditional' 4th line centre; big, physical, can PK, win draws, etc. but not opposed to bringing Gaudette back if we can't find a better option. Don't mind having someone that can bring some offense on the 4th line and is a good team player.I wouldn't re-sign him, I'd rather get someone who's more defensive minded for the 4th line, but credit where it's due, those 19 reg season goals, and his short handed assist in the playoffs are important parts of our success so far, even if they were admittedly completely unsustainable.
Dude's fighting for a contract to stay here and hope he gives Staios another reason tonight! Even if he doesn't stay here next year, a big game tonight (and maybe Saturday) could land him an NHL paycheque somewhere else
Gaudette has scored 19 goals in limited minutes, and coupled with his playoff performance thus far he may have outpriced himself off our fourth line already.
For this run, he is an Ottawa piece and has been providing tremendous value at minimum wage on the 4th line. Keep him away from Highmore. And Highmore from this team.
