Player Discussion Adam Fox

You're so ridiculous, the exact posting chain that you commented on and jumped in on was another poster making the argument about the 3 players and you coming in to discredit the idea that he's falling off And that there's no separation from him falling off. Just please put me on ignore already...

So now you are assigning someone else’s comments and stats to me.

You’re also wrong again as my initial post on this topic wasn’t even a reply to anyone. It was list of like 5 questions about Fox this year since many people have been talking about him. It was not in response to any specific person or post.

You’ve be on ignore for years. Blame the site for having a feature so poorly designed that they have to have a “show ignored content” button because without it’ll hide threads posted by people on the list. I’ll stop clicking it as there’s a reason certain people are on the list and this conversation has helped show why.

So you jump in on a convo and support the other poster and attack what I say, but then want to act like your comments are not related? Haha. Oh boy. This place is hilarious.

Poor Rasmus Dahlin!

Fox needs to have a serious awakening this offseason. he has been flat out trash all year. I blamed Lindgren initially, but that knee injury was clearly more severe than expected and I truly do not believe that the shoulder injury is healed.

Why this guy was rushed back AGAIN is beyond me

Fox is one of the last guys I am gonna blame this season on but maybe its the eye test but his ability to create offense seems to be really diminished. Again maybe its just the eye test or the forwards just suck at driving the middle of the ice to get to the net???

Fox is banged up and is having a down year, but he is a #1 defenseman on about 15-20 NHL teams now and I think he will bounce back. That being said, I have been disappointed with his skating and defense this year. His offense should be back to PPG levels if healthy.

There really isn't any doubt about that.

He was already a weak skater, the injury made a weakness weaker and it has seemingly bled into other parts of his game. Like he hasn't really shown that poise @ the point holding onto the puck at all this year. Or activating from the point and wheeling with the puck down low, circling the net etc like he was good at.

Foxy's body language is the worst on the team and he is out of shape. But he's still got 50+ points on the season. down year for him and everyone else, and he needs to make some some adjustments to his offseason training but again lets not throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Interestingly, it turns out that Fox having 1 goal on 65 shots in his first 40 games was not a sign that he suddenly turned into an inept goal scorer considering he has 8 goals on 50 shots in his last 26 games. and is now scoring at basically the same rate he has every year of his career outside of last years outlier.

While it's always great putting points on the board, context in scoring matters as well. 7 of his 8 goals have come against teams out of the playoffs and mostly bottom feeders. Still, you take what you can get I suppose.

I don't know if we may be noticing it more because we're aware, but his body language makes him look like he's screaming every time something goes wrong. I don't know if it's because he's in pain physically or that he's so frustrated with this season that he wears it on his sleeve. Either way, he needs to reel it in. It makes him an easy mark with opponents.

The guy is still our best Defenseman by a mile, and has more hockey IQ in his toenail than any other Defenseman on the roster in their whole bodies. He's just a very dangerous player in the O zone, I would like to see him shore up defensively and maybe beef up 10 lbs over the off-season, he gets bullied way too often due to his diminutive statute and he's not a great skater.

IMO, down season or whatever, Fox is the kind of talent you don't give up on because you're pissy

he's still young, a top player at his position, and cost controlled at a good price for years to come
moving him because your panties are twisted is foolish

That could be 100% true but with that said Fox owes it to himself and the team to do a few things in the future.

1. Work with the team to get his knee 100%.

2. Come in to camp in the best shape of his career if healthy.

3. Show a more positive body language. The frequent looking up at the sky should be reduced if not eliminated. Lead by example.

I agree he needs to improve on this season

If his knee needs to get better then yeah, make sure that's taken care of.

I'm not really convinced his conditioning is an issue but in genreal the whole team needs to show more intensity

Looked to me like Fox was joining the offense closer to the opposing teams net in the last 2 games or more. I wonder what is behind that. Is he feeling better? Mental adjustment?
I think I even saw him take a slapper from the point in one of the last two games ....I was half asleep....so maybe I was dreaming LOL....

We're talking about body language again? What f***ing mood do you expect them to be in having a season like this?

Despite all the country club memes on here, I can assure you that the vast majority of them care deeply about it.

fox isn't as slow as people like to complain about but he's never going to be as fast as people want no matter how much he trains

be realistic

They don't care...if they actually did they would have a lot more scraps....our team wants NO part of that stuff.....and that is still a problem....we have no push back and the other teams know that . We play soft in front of our net and even softer in front of the opposition net .

You should watch more Sen games to get an idea on a club that does care . The Rangers are all out for themselves . We are still leaderless .

I wish sports culture was more about shitting on the worst guys on the team than expecting even more out of the players doing everything already

Yeah that's what we need, to fight more. You figured it out.
