When looking back at last year's playoffs Edstrom might have been a good 4th liner at least against the Panthers. Size, strength, skating and sometimes during this season he's made plays at the blu line to get past defenders for breakaways or two on ones. With the Panthers always using their D to pressure the puck down from the points Edstrom might have been very useful to us in that way but also in a physical way. It's not like he throws tons of hits but he's been able to use his size to control play along the boards and in the corners and his skating is very good as well. Ten weeks from now will be somewhere around the middle of April.

We have got the makings of a phenomenal homegrown bottom6 coming up right now.

And you know, for a team that lives and dies by free agency and attracting big names, having some combination of Edstrom, Berard, Sykora, Othmann, Rempe, Chmelar, Roobroeck, etc., ingrained in the culture and setting the tone in games, sounds like a pretty damn good base to build a winning team on.

If we had Edstrom and Carrick last year against Florida I no joke think we might have won that series. Our bottom 6 was garbage. Though I guess we did get a Goodrow OT goal in game 2.
