they had to go fishing for the upper part of the tendon, back up behind the calf muscle. when it completely tears it will retract back up behind the calf. he said the incision is 1-2" more than normal

I thought they could find it with MR (magnetic blabla) and then go fishing but what do I know about that.

Some things they (medics) do are ridicolous and astoning and they never seem to stop
amaze me.

Not trying to be a dick but it looks like a fleshboot with a zipper. The stitching looks good though.

TG here is the answer if you haven't seen already

Senators general manager Bryan Murray said Thursday the surgery went well. He also said 70 percent of the tendon was cut.

''It was a clean cut and recovery is expected to be 100 percent,'' Murray said. ''But it does mean his year finishes at this time.''

Based on the other players that had similar achilles injury, i say 6-8 months. should be ready when camp opens

A $30 skate sock or an $80 hockey sock MIGHT have prevented this injury. Think of the money Ottowa has invested in Karlsson and it might have been preventable for about $100. If I'm an owner I push to make kevlar socks mandatory for my players, drop the caveman/tough guy attitude and embrace technology and safety.
