Unfortunately another narrow one goal loss in Calgary. AHL Canucks have been on the wrong side of some very tight road games recently, and are really starting to sink in the Pacific Division.

Lekkerimaki and Klimovich are continuing their strong seasons with the only goals in a 3-2 loss. But they really need to get a lot more from some of their veteran players.

Something that should be highlighted in the organization this year are players that can pass the puck.

Jim Benning always said the hardest thing to do in the NHL is score goals. So most of the Canucks prospects were guys that can shot the puck really well. Lekker is an underrated play maker but it is not seen much this year in the AHL. Klim, Paterson, Romani, Fernstrom all goal scorers mostly.

Klimovich beat the Calgary goalie (who played well) by ripping a 35-foot unscreened wrist shot past his blocker.

Team played a fairly good game for the most part but a penalty parade in the second period hurt them. And not for the first time this season, a mere perusal of the SOG totals would give an incorrect perspective on a Calgary-Abbotsford game-- the Wranglers had at least as many good scoring chances, and certainly more in the third period where they came close on several occasions to padding their lead.
