One of the same blind mice who couldn't see a guy breaking in alone on the goalie, carrying the puck, having his stick heavily slashed in two... has no problem seeing a lesser slash by Friedman. Reign score on the PP. 3-1 midway through the third.
Is that the same as saying the S O word?

I couldn't care less about ridiculous superstitions.

Reign score one on the PP but Blais scores an empty netter to seal the win 5-2. Unselfish play by Raty to pass it to Blais. Raty now with 2A in this game

Blais now with points in 5 straight. Abby wins its 4th straight. Silovs with 42 saves on 44 shots.

Back to back wins over the Reign is impressive. Reign are one of the top teams in the AHL

It's been discussed how we don't know about the player situations in Abbotsford but where the heck is Hirose?

Tristan Nielsen had that dog on a bone, like what happened?

Raty is on fire again--three more assists tonight. And Brannstrom voted the second star after a two-assist night.

He's certainly a dominant d-man at this level. It's just a shame it doesn't seem to translate to the NHL.

Abbotsford defeated San Jose 3-2, five wins in a row. Goals by Karlsson, Smith and Aman. Tolopilo stopped 34 of 36 shots. Tried to keep a bit of an eye on it, seemed like it was entertaining, plenty of shots and chances (especially first period), scrums, penalties. Abby PBP guy was screaming for a penalty on the sequence where San Jose tied the game 2-2, when it very obviously was the stick of teammate Pettersson that caught Mueller and felled him to the ice. Lots going on.

Rematch tomorrow at 4pm.

One of the worse no calls you'll see. That was ridiculous and SJ gets a goal out of it.

Aman continues to dominate and Smith, who I've crticized in the past, is starting to really contribute.

Tolopilo has got to get better rebound control. He got some luck around the net in this one. Overall, however, I'd say he is starting to get his season together.

That first goal vs Abby. Tolo not sure what happened there. Deflected a bit maybe, he took it awkward and then just never got set again for the rebound.

Blais at the end of the game there with a chance to clear flubbed it. Aman does look like he wants another chance. Some of these guys might get a change of scenery and a chance on some lesser teams soon. Obviously not for sure NHLer's but good enough to deserve a legit shoot to see if they can stick.

Every once and awhile you get a jarring reminder of the gulf that exists between the AHL and the NHL.

Brannstrom is simply a dominant player at this level. He seems to be able to do anything he wants with the puck out there. But of course as we all know, his game just doesn't translate to the NHL very well.

Blais really looks like he's rounding into form. He's big, his skating is light years ahead of where it was at training camp, and lately he's starting to put up some points.

Is he a third or fourth line option for the Canucks? He still needs and NHL contract.

Kudryavtsev - I’m trying to figure out what he is. Is he an offensive defenseman? Or more of a two-way?

What might his nhl upside be? A third pair guy?

Aren't you the one always demanding they call up some mid-upper-roster player from the AHL because that player can't possibly be worse than someone on the NHL roster?

Jonathan Lekkerimäki (sent down by VAN earlier today) is on the ice for warmup here at Abbotsford Centre. I do not see Guillaume Brisebois.

2-way guy, it's a bit surprising to everyone he's producing at this level. He got voted second best defensive-defense man in the OHL western conference last year.

I don't think anyone really knows where to project him at right now. The step up he has took from this year to last year coming into a new league is massive. If he can make that same step up next year, all bets are off on where to project him. HockeyDB has him listed as under 6 feet, but he doesn't play that small and I think that might get updated since there always is a bit of height inflation.

There has been quite the log-jam of AHL vet defenseman on the team so he might be the one getting traded to make room for other prospects coming in. Which sucks.

Oof 0-1 SJ

Pettersson a big of a boneheaded play... I would say that he is lucky the didn't get a penalty for a crosscheck but 5 seconds later he let Bailey just tip the pick without tying him up.
