Malhotra has put together a line of Sammy Blais, centered by Raty, with newly acquired Jujhar Khaira on the right side.

That line dominated in last game against Bakersfield. It's the kind of veteran line that do a lot of damage in the upcoming AHL playoffs.

Does Raty have 2nd line C NHL upside? I see that he is currently PPG in the AHL, but not sure otherwise.

From the sounds of things, it was an entertaining night at the Abby Entertainment Center. Baby Canucks squeezed out a 5-4 win over the Calgary Wranglers in the shoot-out.

Raty voted the first star with two more goals. He might be ready for another audition in Vancouver--depending on how long Chytil is out. They really don't have anyone else.

Was in the building for this one. Crowd was hot. Lots of green beer was drank. Raty and Klimovich looked fantastic.

I really wish I could make it out to more games. Problem with owning little kids, I can really only make Sunday games.

Canucks squeak out a 1-0 win against Calgary to pull into a tie with them in terms of points in the standings. Tolopilo the first star with a 30-save shutout.....and Linus Karlsson with the only gol in the second period.

Looks like this Abbotsford Canuck team has all the elements going right now. A stout blueline; solid goaltending and three lines that can put pressure on the other team. They'll be an interesting team to watch heading into the playoffs.

The Pacific Division is really wide open. Doesn't appear to any one dominant team.

Assuming that Aman, Mancini, Lekkerimaki and Silovs eventually make their way back to Abbotsford, this team could be really 'stacked' entering the Calder Cup Playoffs.

Skill and depth everywhere. More importantly, a lot of veteran players both up-front and on the blueline. And in goal, in all likelihood both Silovs and Tolpilo.

In the Calder Cup playoffs it's often the teams stacked with veteran players who go on the longest run. And with guys like Blais, Khaira, Di Giuseppe and Stevens up front; and blueliners like Brisebois, Wolanin, McWard and Woo, there's a lot of AHL experience to draw on.

You'd have to be optimistic about the Abby Canucks chances to getting out of the Pacific Division, at the very least. And from what I can see, the Central Division isn't all that strong in the next round.

Is Raty waivers exempt next season? I believe he is, but I'm not fully confident how to read Puckpoedia's waiver page. Does the 3 of 4 seasons indicate he has completed 3 seasons and now he is in his 4th and final season of exemption?

Exempt Center 19 36/160 3/4

This is Raty's final season of waiver exemption.

Abby Canucks with a workmanlike 4-2 win over the sad-sack Manitoba Moose. Tristan Nielsen has his first two goal game in what seems like ages. Klimovich with another snipe--his 22nd.

But Canucks goalie Tolopilo was voted the first star in the building. He's been building on a nice string of starts recently. Looks playoff ready.

Abbotsford is slowly but surely reeling in the teams ahead of them in the Pacific. Probably not enough games left to catch Colorado Eagles, but could easily see them finishing second--which would give them home ice advantage for most of the initial rounds.

5-4 OT win for Abbotsford, who just keep rolling. Max Sasson has heated up of late and scored the OT winner tonight. With the Canucks possibly needing to call up a center, I wonder if it’s him or Raty that gets the call?

Ty Young with another win in net, 29 saves on 33 shots. Sammy Blais with two goals, and Ty Mueller with a couple of assists. Guillaume Brisebois with a rare goal in this one, too.

Reactions: Tables of Stats
If the parent Canucks continue their March swoon, guys like Mancini, Karlsson, Lekkerimaki and Silovs should be back in Abbotsford well before the playoffs. Normally EP25 could join them--but he wasn't papered down to the AHL by Vancouver to be playoff eligible.

This is still a roster that could do some serious damage in the Calder Cup Playoffs. So at least Cup playoff starved fans in Vancouver will have one 'Canucks team' to follow in the post-season.
